Computer issue, Tech heads please look.

  1. I should probably have put this in the 'big picture' section, but since that doesn't have a computer section I decided to post in here.

The issue I am having is I can't get sound to my T.V from my laptop using my HDMI cable.
It's an Acer Aspire 4930 with 4G ram and a GeForce 9600m GS 512MB graphics card. I've seen solutions that involve updating/changing the graphics card drivers but I can't find suitable ones on the nVidia site.
Would it be because I'm running 32bit XP rather than Vista or 64bit?
I've upgraded the realtec audio drivers too.

    Thanks for the help.

P.S. The TV's an LG 720p HD, if that makes a difference.

  2. This worked for me:

in the control panel, go to sounds and then highlight the first hdmi option. Then hit set default.

Should work, you might need to restart the thing that you wanted to listen to after you switched the sound. Also i cant get mine to work with itunes so i have to use windows media player

  3. Got it! Thanks a million, dude! Have some ghost rep!
