    My computer has recently been lagging because there are too many processes running on the CPU. Now, my question is, which processes can I remove without messing up the pc?

    i would look each of em up man, thats usually what i do if i have lotsa shit.

    Black Viper's Web Site can help a lot in this situation.

    If they don't mention it, Google it to find out what it is.

    Same.

    If you just type each process name into Google, the very first result will usually tell you what it's for and if it's necessary or not.

    You may have solved the problem but definitely look at BlackViper's site. Also, you could format the hard drive and re-install, even using a lightweight install of XP if you don't want to accumulate a bunch of crap processes.

    I'm on Windows 7. I disabled bonjour for itunes and it reduced the temperature by 15 degrees! It doesn't lag anymore as well.:hello:

    I have about 80 processes running but the majority of them are important.
