I'm trying to build a PC grow box but i can not get the fans to work when i hook them up my adaptors. i checked the adaptor right before i cut the wires. i turned the computer on right before i took it apart and all of the fans were working fine and now i don't think i could hook them up to the computer power thing (i don't even know what the hell it's called!) Please help!!! here are some pictures all the stuff i have. there is a picture of only one of my adaptors because they are all basically the same. http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...Picture041.jpg http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...Picture040.jpg http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...Picture039.jpg http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/...Picture038.jpg sorry about the links. the damn uploader wasn't working
Hey there. Your problem seems to be because if your computer fans are 80-120mm they are most likely 12volt and your adapter is 9.6volt. If you're trying to hook multiple fans up to the adapter you're definitely not going to have enough current at only 200 mA. In fact my 120mm fan uses 320 mA by itself. I'd really bet you're demanding more amps than your current can provide. Hope this helps.
You're trying to run all 3 of those off of 1 power adapter??? No wonder they don't work. Get an adapter from like a ... battery charger for a drill (18vish) should do the trick.
i'm not trying to run them all on one adaptor. i have an adaptor for each and the adaptors are all the same so i posted a picture of only one of them
Make sure your pc fans don't use more than .2 amps as that is what your adapter provides. 12 volts of direct current at 200 mA. My 120mm pc fan uses 320 mA and it would not work with your guitar pedal 12v adapter. Get an adapter that outputs at least .5 amps. RadioShack has them for pretty cheap
