Ok i was reading some stuff on lighting and realized something that tripped me out a bit lol. As some if not most of you will know colours dont actually exist, there just what we interpert energy waves as ( more to it than that but thats the basic idea) so that being the case, do we all see different colours? is green to me brown to you? is black purple green red or yellow orange? Just a thought
colors are as real as you and me. are we really even here? this a dream? did i really just wake up or did i just start another dream?
Some people can actually taste color. But thats a different story. I was just thinking, you know how some people say they have a colored aura that some people give off. I wonder if this is just a mixing of their senses, or if this is a real measurement of what wavelengths or frequencies our bodies are giving off, and some people are sensitive enough to notice it. just a thought
anyone else here listen to music and see colors in their head? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia
I dunno, my friend has a theory that everything operates at a certain frequency, and our senses can interpert things that run around the same frequency as them, thats why certain people see auras or can taste colours, and certain drugs such as say lsd alternates the frequency of our brain and changes what we percieve the world as.
AS you said man, it comes down to energy waves of photons. Each color will have a corresponding wavelength and theres some weird chart online where you can match up whatever frequency you got to see the color, so there is some kind of definitive color basis. But other than that see all that you can, and then some
basiclly im sayig is EVERYBODY colorblind, cause maybe we interpert things differently, say i see what i believe to be my cat, to me hes a jet black tabby, but you see him as a brown and orange persian but to you that is a jet black tabby cause thats what you see him as? its hard to explain it completely
no that wouldn't work because if you had two people who never seen each other before. put them in a room (serperate times) with the same cat and a box of crayons they're pictures would come out the same color..
Yes they would but thats not quite what i mean, how can i phrase it... OK i know. this smiley we call the color of the smiley yellow, but what if to someone else yellow looks like this but cause they have always interperted that red as yellow to THEM it is yellow, kinda like being colorblind. If i still didnt explain it proper ill just give up cause i cant think of a different way too
this we all see the same colors, maybe slightly diff, but still prtty much the same. like everybody knows a red crayon is red
Dude this "philosophy" is nearly a meme in itself. I've seen so many arguments on other forums about this and had this thought myself when I was like 12. Color blindness isn't necessarily seeing in black and white, some colors are just "off." This is about as close to being truthful as that theory can come.
pardon me but a meme? and i know what colourblind is there not turned off as you stated there seen as different colours or different pitches, like my fatehr for instance, when he looks at something green he says orange, and no one has understood what i have meant so far lol ( no offense meant) so lets just let this thread die before we get at each others throats over it
but seeing red as yellow? that would be HEAVY colorblindness. if you put navy blue and a dark purple together i have a hard time differenciating them but i know purple is purple ya know? i see where you're coming from but it just seems like one of those highdeas that makes no sense when you're sober
