Colorado Senate Passes Bill to Bar Youth From MMJ

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by WagePeace, Feb 1, 2010.

  1. Just where does it prevent anything?

  2. Yes where doe it bar anyone under 18?

"DENVER - The Senate has passed a bill preventing recreational pot users from skirting the law to obtain medical marijuana is headed.

The Senate voted 34-1 on Monday to back the measure, Senate Bill 109, and send it to the House.

It would bar doctors from writing recommendations inside dispensaries that sell medical marijuana. It requires that doctors review a person's medical history and give them a full exam before recommending that they become a legal user of medical marijuana.

Those between 18 and 21 would have to get the approval of two doctors, which is already required for patients under 18."

  3. I don't remember saying it bars anyone under 18?...what I did say is that is is trying to prevent younger patients by forcing them to "get the approval of two doctors." Why are 18-21 yr olds any different from 21+ year olds? For those calling for our rights to not be ignored I just don't think it's right to make seperate rules for a seperate age group of ADULTS.
