colloidal silver

  1. I dont ever want to spend money on seeds again,

i've got a half dozen or so fem seeds of 4 strains left that I like growing/smoking that i'll grow out and clone a few of each.

few questions before i get to deep into this

is Colloidal silver the easiest way to go about doing this?

I think the plant/branch needs to be sprayed a few times a day.. how much/what size bottle of this stuff should i get?

I cant seem to find anything other than 10ppm or 500ppm and no in between for a decent price. will either of these work?

If i take a plant flip it to 12/12, spray a branch or two until balls start to appear, can i just let those branches pollinate the rest of the plant? i'll be growing in a tent so i'm not sure allowing pollin all over the place is the best idea/plan.

    thanks everyone.

  2. in 1989 I did something similar, but I used gibberellic acid on a plant grown from a seed found in a Thai Stick.
It was a success. I’ve kept those seed all these years. Grown them twice. Last week I pulled 12 out of storage and sprouting them now!!! Counting on a few to make it.

I would make large Narrow rectangular folded envelopes with unbleached Parchment paper. Treat the tip and place branch tip and an extra 8-12” of its stem in the envelope. The tip will receive enough air and light to mature. The envelope will minimize pollen spread in your tent. After the male flower is formed and pollen stuffed you cut the branch with the pollen envelope attached.
With your air circulation system turned off, Bring the envelope to the female flower. Place a fine tip paint brush, water color type, through a small opening in the envelope to collect pollen. Carefully remove the brush and place pollen on your selected flower.
This will allow you to still have nice buds and get a few seeds along with keeping your tent from becoming a seed factory.
    Good luck.

  3. I did this years back by making my own CS with a piece of silver jewelry, distilled water and a 9v battery. I sprayed them generously for about a week during stretch and stopped when they started to 'crown' ..or when the buds were starting to form. As the flowers developed over the next 2 weeks or so, plenty of banana flowers appeared. I plucked the bananas and put them in a little container, kept it in the freezer for a week or 2 until a fresh mother was in full bloom), then applied that pollen with a q-tip on it to get some S1 seeds.

If I wanted to do it (femmed seeds) again, I would just light stress the shit out of them instead around the end of stretch.

  4. That's crazy I never knew that, I have made colloidal silver for 20 years. So now when I get a plant I want I will take two clones root them and spray one with colloidal silver to get my sacks to breed the other one, no more paying big money for seeds. Thank you for bringing this up.

  5. this is pretty much exactly what i was looking for,

    thanks!

any suggestion on ppm/strength of the CS?

  6. I did not use CS, I used gibberellic acid. Sounds like some have had on going success with CS, I can’t comment.
Good luck with the pollination effort. That envelope should be secure around the stem entry point. Blue painters tape may be helpful. Use care when tranfering pollen if you don't want a bunch of buds seeded.
