I'll be transferring out of my current college after this semester, and I'm trying to plan out what I'm doing. I'm near Philly, so I was considering going to a school there as I dig the Philly atmosphere, but I also enjoy the rural areas, too. I also have no problems traveling away from the east coast. It is nice being in the city though since everything you need is only a few blocks away (usually). haha I'm sure that pretty much any college will have it's share of potheads, but I find that potheads are the nicest, most laid back people, so I'm just curious as to what you guys think about schools with a lot of them. I still don't know what I'm changing my major to (Liberal Arts right now), so that's not a factor.
Asheville, NC is by far the hippiest city besides san francisco. Theres UNCA and a couple small colleges. Its real chill, in the mountains, great and cheap weed, lots of good music and food and this cool as drum circle every friday night. Boone NC is like a smaller version of asheville and its got Appalachian State.
Seems like a really cool campus/area, it's just too bad that they don't have any of the majors that I wanna take.
Madison, Wisconsin. People call it "public ivy" because of its public status its enormous reputation for being one of the best universities around. Consistantly rated in the top three marijuana colleges by High Times. It's a semi-big city, but still permissive enough of many things. Plus, small possession has been LEGAL in the city since the 70s. Just don't take it on the streets.
I think I want to go to school for cinema/film studies. I found that University of Oregon has this program, and the campus seems really great. My cousin also lives in Eugene (where the campus is located), and she loves it there. She even told me that the first day she moved there, she went to the park for a walk, and some kid started lighting up a bowl right in front of her hahaha. It would be stupid to just go to a school based on weed usage, but Eugene really is a cool place with all of the mountains and woods! I'll post any more colleges that I find interest in, but I'm mainly looking for ones with a film program.
dude yeah, the northwest is where its at, Eugene is just like any other oregon hippy town, chill and awesome. We have a similar town here in MT called Missoula, where University of Montana is located.
I know that columbia here in chicago has a bunch of film related majors and potheads. Dont know how it ranks against anything else though. Thats right by me though, we would be buddies.
The only reason i looked at this was to make sure somone mentioned Chico on the first page Chico state is Where its at hands down
Penn State has plenty of potheads, 4 hours from philly area in a rural setting with lots of mountains and state parks nearby. Really cool vibe in the town, like your quintessential college town. Lots of very sexy women, some of them really interesting, some of them totally regrettable. Tons of booze (naturally)
I live in Spokane, Washington, but Bellingham is such an awesome city. It is close-ish to Seattle, and has better weather (in my opinion). Western Washington U is there, and I am going there next year. It is definitely a hippie mecca, and the whole vibe in the town is really good. People actually smile at people when they make eye contact with strangers.. incredible!! The school is a good size and so is the town. Not to mention Washington is fucking beautiful
i visited my friends up at URI (univeristy of rhode island) and we would litterally just go outside their dorm and light up in a bench. EVERYONE smokes it's fucking awesome. just roll a blunt and smoke it right outside.

I'm pretty sure I'm decided on Temple. Their film and media arts program is supposed to be really great and I want to go into film, plus I do like the city of brotherly love! I have some friends who have an apartment that I can room in, too, so everything seems to work out. Temple is pretty reasonable, as well. A small plus is that weed is cheap there, too.
