College Advisor Jobs Drug Test

  1. I'm sure this question gets asked a lot, but I wanted to get other opinions/advice/experiences.

I want to apply for a job as a student services advisor for a college in the California SF/Bay Area. I stopped smoking over a month and a half ago, so I'm pretty sure that I could pass a drug test (though I'd rather be entirely sure, so I plan on testing myself soon). I'm just wondering what the odds are of me getting tested, or if college jobs in that area normally drug test their applicants. If anyone has any experience as a college student advisor (or a similar college occupation) and has any advice that could help me, I'd really appreciate it.

P.S. I was considering smoking one more time within the next week, but since this job has come up, I'm highly doubtful.

  2. If it's privately owned then you probably wont get tested.

The insurance companies that insure you are the ones that require the testing, not the place you work.

Go to a smoke shop and pick up a test, a week before the job interview see if you're clean.
If not go to plan b and pick up a detox drink.
