Coconut oil to weed ratio ?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Ronhip, Oct 4, 2014.

  1. Is half a cup of coconut oil enough to extract from about 40g of trim/bud mix?
I filled a mason jar full of weed, poured in 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil, and set the jar in the ceock pot water for 8hrs +, let it cool and stuck it in the freezer overnight. Got up in the morning and took out the jar from the freezer to let it thaw for and hour, then crock potted for about an hour to liquefy and strain.
Got over 3/4 of the oil back, stirred in lecithin, sealed in a container and back into the freezer.
I've been making 1 cup of oil from 1 ounce of weed. But I've never used such a small amount of oil for such a large amount of weed. (1/2 cup oil & 40 grams of weed)
I'd like to make really strong oil so I have to add less to recipes.
After straining, is it worth it to keep the weed and add it to another recipe?
