Coconut Oil recipe w/ an 8th

Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by Drusilla666, Jan 4, 2011.

  1. I only have an 8th to cook with and I'd like to make some coconut oil. Does anybody have any recipes? I'm a total novice when it comes to cooking.

    Thanks

  2. put weed and oil in a pan, keep stirring on low heat until it is all brown and cooked looking.
filter out the weed and ingest the oil.

  3. also, the interwebs are full of recipes.
so i dunno why i typed all that.

  4. Well...sure the web is full of recipes but i was specifically asking for a recipe based on the quantity of cannabis that i have to work with which is considerably less than all the recipes out there. Obviously the amount of ingredients are going to vary based on the amount of herb.

  5. This is why there is a thing in math called proportions.

  6. Is it really that challenging to be nice or is sarcasm the way things work around here. I am aware of proportions but as i said in my original post i am a novice to cooking with cannabis which is why i came here looking for direction.

  7. Crock pot on low for 12 hours with 1/4 or a 1/2 cup of coconut oil. Bam.

  8. If you are aware of proportions, then why did you even make this thread, when you could've just done the math and used a recipe out there. Not being rude, just trying to point something out. :hello:

  9. Actually, you were being rude and you're still being rude! In answer to your question as to why I made the thread:

Because cutting the proportions from a recipe posted elsewhere may not have the same intended effect as the original recipe. As I said, I know NOTHING about THC exraction and from what I do understand there is some sort of chemistry to it. I just wanted to make sure I got it right. That's all. I don't particularly feel like wasting an 8th of pot.

Thanks to the gent who actually answered the question.

  10. If I came out as rude then I'm sorry I hadn't intended it that way.
1/8th is probably the lowest I'd use for an oil recipe, but it should still work. Honestly instead of oil, I'd suggest canna-butter.

Oh btw, there's a recipe on here for oil that involves 6g's, I'm pretty sure you could pull off ~60% of that recipe and still get great effects.

    EDIT: Link here http://forum.grasscity.com/incredib...aleos-potent-decarboxylated-cannabis-oil.html

  11. Quite debateable

Yes it will have the same effect as most people use a basic recipe of 1 oz to 1 lb of oil, some will use more. Do the math ;)

So in other words... instead of reading one of the many posts already answering the question that has been asked a thousand times already... you decided to ask it yet again:eek:

If that were true you would have done the research:eek:

  12. he wasnt being rude he was being right. Look for a recipe, read it and do the math for the amount you have.

times like these i wish neg rep was still on.

  13. Me too so I could negative rep you and the other half-wits on this thread. Just because there are other recipes doesn't mean he can't ask for one on here.

    "Do the math"

What math? What math is he supposed to do when there are thousands of different recipes calling for different amounts to tell someone to "do math" on a non-given ratio is retarded.

  14. He's not being rude. You're just oblivious to what everyone has been telling you...

  15. Crockpot method is the easiest I've seen. Grind your 1/8 up as fine as you can get it, you almost want a powder. If you can't grind it up that fine put it in the oven on very low for 5-10 minutes, just enough to dry it out, then you can crush it in a bowl with a spoon or something until it's powder.

After that dump the herb into a crockpot with just enough oil or butter to cover the herb, leave on "low" for several hours (or overnight). Strain out the herb (if desired, not necessary) with a coffee filter, cheesecloth, whatever is on hand. The liquid can be eaten as is, or added to any recipe desired.

It's hard to tell specifically how much oil or butter you would need to add to a recipe to get 1 dose / item as it varies significantly per batch and person. If I had to guess I would think 3.5 grams would be enough for 8-15 doses (VERY rough guess). If you can sample some after making and get a good idea for how much is needed for a dose it will help you tell how much is needed for a given recipe.

Just made some 0.5g firecrackers the other day, one gave me a nice calm high but I wished it had been stronger. One put my girlfriend in bed though, awful experience, she couldn't move. So if you haven't played with edibles much yet, guess a bit low on dosages

  16. Well 3.5 grams is a little low on the cooking side of things, did you check out the icing thread? You can use as little as a gram and make some icing which is very easy quick and good for begginers. Plus it is portable and you can throw it on whatever and it'll taste pretty decent as well!

And to everyone bickering...smoke a joint or a bong =) we all need to chiilllll

  17. Quit whining. yes he was being sarcastic, but so is everyone. no one wants to read some one crying that someone was mean to them on the internet

  18. careful when cooking with coconut oil, it burns VERY easily. i cook with it all the time and if im not careful with how hot i have the stove on it starts smoking like a motherfucker.

  19. what would you use coconut oil with?
