Coconut oil infused with tincture?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Jsaunders, Aug 2, 2021.

  1. Have many tried it ? Any issues with doing it this way ?

  2. It works but so does direct oil so it's like adding an unnecessary series of steps.

  3. Thanks. I have a bunch of tincture - my mother was asking about it. Tincture would let me have it done sooner rather then slow heating the oil and weed for hours

My recipe your done in 60 minutes. Nothing hours long about it.

Decarb 5 grams of bud. 240 F for 40 minutes
    Grind to flour grade dust.

5 grams of Kief or hash or powdered buds
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin
    Combine
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze (optional)
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes (optional)

    Done.

    Hash 1 drop = 3milligrams THC
    Buds 1 drop = 1mg

  5. Awesome. Thank you

  6. Tincture can be done easy enough but unless you have a still your going to waste the alcohol to air by evaporation. Either before hand making it like RSO or blending the tincture into Coconut oil and heating it for 15-30 minutes to cook off the booze.

I like having Tincture around for the speed of it working. Alcohol tincture hits as fast as smoking to me. Wears off as fast too unfortunately.

  7. See for me I hate the taste of tincture … but it did work better and faster then chocolates that I made. But once I made infused honey…. Game over - I love the taste and it’s a fast buzz - I would say 30 -40 mins (same as tincture for me )

  8. It's a solvent transfer to the oil and you get all of your potency. You can make it several times stronger than Brass caps because you can concentrate it. Many people do it. Try it, you'll like it. Sorry, can't type to explain further. :confused_2:

  9. Another Tincture Thread - Try it, Youll like it
Here is Sam's excellent thread and it'll cover all the ways to Solvent transfer in good detail.
Sam is having issues with his hands at the moment and it is tough for him to type much.
There are a few ways to get it done. One way is to evaporate off all the alcohol-water until you have tar. Mix the tar with an equal amount of coconut oil and a dash of Lecithin and heat 220 F for 20 minutes. This is how I make RSO grade oil.

    Feel better old friend.

  10. Fortunately ligaments don't hurt for long so I can type now a bit but not much else.

You do lose the alcohol during evaporation unless you can recover it but there's loss in every method. The solvent transfer doesn't create RSO because you're not taking it all the way to the tar and you're not having to subject it to the higher heat getting all that alcohol out. But the best thing about the transfer other than improved taste is that you can control the potency of your oil or other medium. It is a good way to use old tincture.

Thanks for subbing for me. I'm afraid there are going to be more of those times in my future. It won't be long before I'm going to have to have "Suri" write things for me, as long as I can still talk.
