Coconut oil chocolate (experience report)

Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by pezlet, Sep 2, 2012.

  1. Starting this thread now because I'm excited. Yesterday I decarbed about .75g, crushed it into dust, decarbed a little more to be sure, put it in a shot glass and added some coconut oil to cover it, and then cooked it for 5 hours at between 220-250F. Then I took it out, froze it overnight, and this morning baked it for another 45 minutes before mixing it with melted chocolate. I have a feeling this is going to be mind blowing, because my tolerance is near zero.
Eating it in about 1 1/2 hours and seeing where it takes me. Trying to decide if I should eat it all at once or make it two doses.

Expect updates half hourly or hourly :D

  2. Eat it all at once, go big or go home!

    :D

Nah, seriously though, just eat half and see where it gets you. You don't want to green out on edibles, it's not fun.

Hahah, yeah...the last time I did edibles (and I put in a hell of a lot less effort than this batch) I ate around .4-.5 in peanut butter. Thought I was fine, was having a good time relaxing, and then I started eating. And I ate so much, I thought I was gonna die. Knew I couldn't die from weed, but I was afraid I'd eat so much sugar that I'd die from diabetic shock or something (I'm very fit, eat healthy, fast metabolism, and absolutely do not have diabetes, but still). Was scary. Haha.
This time I'm going to try to avoid food. Just had a decent sized dinner so I'm going to wait 30 minutes and get this baby rolling.

  4. And the timer has begun. It wasn't very solidified...so it was really hard to portion it out. No idea how much I had hahah. Was definitely more than half of it, probably closer to 2/3 of it. Started a lot later than I thought I would but I expect to be blasted pretty soon.

  5. Sweet, still going....subbed for updates and pics

Shit, I forgot to take pictures hahah. There's still some left in the Tupperware so I'll take a picture of what's left. Didn't take pictures of the process or anything cause it's basically a longer version of badkitty's recipes

  7. About 45 minutes later, I can't tell if something's happening yet. I think it may be, but I always try to talk myself out of it so when I truly feel something there's no way it's just in my head.

The good news is the chocolate actually tasted really good, so at least I didn't suffer through a bad tasting edible.
