  1. nautica thorn is a badddd asian pornstar. beautiful.
and your nautica thorn ed is lookin nice as well, have you noticed a difference in growth with the smart pots? more branching less branching? tighter nodes, healthier roots? also have u ever used just plain growbags?

  2. So, Does this Marine Cuisine method work? Is this a good idea for a first time grower?

  3. im sold...I have finally got the correct amount added per volume of coir I am using and I have seen all my plants take off...even the sickest one has completely reversed any problem it has had...

  4. How often do you guys water seedlings? Im used to soil and not watering seedlings much at all. Also i haven't rinsed my coco but i did test runoff is was about 100ppm's higher than in think this is okay i dont wanna flush cause i added stuff to coco and i dont want it to wash out. Also when watering seedlings do you add anything to the water? Im using tap that sat out with greatwhite added ph down with some vinigar thats it im thinking about adding some green fuse instead of superthrive cause im scared of killing my benificial myco's. Dread you can probably help me out with this one and damn your thread is dated.

  5. lol Critter...you mean the last grow I did in 04? yeah man its been some time if thats what you are referring to ;) so in a sense its like im a noob all over again...ive done plenty of consulting amongst friends, but just recently got back into the hobby...I went and took a look at your thread to see what you were working with...damn dude...impressive!!!!

I did catch a part about you saying you were working with coir now...I didnt quite get a look at what you were using...I am just using the MC and lime and since I am not in one gallon pots...maybe 1/2 gallons I am watering every 2 days...I know I should water today, but honestly they dont look like they need it so I might be going every three days till i transplant to 3's...so far I am just watering with at 5.9 and have not added anything.

My best looking one I started in an aerogarden...transplanted to hot coir (my definition is unwashed and too much organic fert) re-planted into rinsed coir and readjusted ferts and the thing is acting like its a male with its growth lol. first set of leaves burned a bit on the edges but I knew it would happen...the new growth looks like it should...

you might run into a bit of problems...either no growth or burning...if you see a white build up ontop of your coir when it has dried out....salt..

  6. Cool thanks Dread!

  7. Looking great Ed! Can't wait for more details to come in :D I'm going to do something similar next grow :D

Here are my other 3...2 of them were re-planted tonight...the yellow one will be green in about 3 days...will show you...this shit is crazy...! this thing does look bad...but the one in the other thread above was in way worse shape...i know why this thing is yellow...i didnt completely separate the little roots from the previous coir, I kinda just scooped up and slid it into new coir without rinsing the roots, so of course, it was still surrounded by the bad stuff and probably taking in the salts...well, i believe it has worked itself out because the new growth is coming back
    [IMG]

on this other one...the first set of leaves are burnt to shit lol but it will come back fine[IMG]

this one was also repotted...slow grower, but it has also been through hell...i think it will be just fine know...[IMG]

and can someone please identify this herb...i forgot to label it...I think is it possible that it is cilantro? I know i had some somewhere lol

  11. Dude. Thread jacking is bad etiquette. In 2 buttons just start a thread in the coco section of the forum and update it there. As long as you write well and have something to show or ask about people will talk. It don't have to be a new journal or nything. See the forum rules if you have more questions.

Lol...damn two infractions at once...its cool..

[Name calling is against the rules. Off topic drug discussion is against the rules. No, you haven't been around long enough to do "pretty much anything". Everybody follows the rules. -FW]

  13. Naughty - could that be basil?

  14. Hmmm...could be...but I really don't remember buying basil seeds lol....anyways they grow good in coir

  15. Naughty....

    I'll guess Sage.

  16. its neither sage nor cilantro. i think its lettuce or something like that

  17. I think it is Romaine...I think I bought some seeds...because I had also got some collard seeds...and another leafy veg..so I am guessing that is what it is...not putting off the smell of basil and its not cilantro because that seed pack is unopened...

all I can really say right now is I really think MC is worth every dollar...it really is as simple as just water...no pictures for fear of you all minding since this isnt my thread and I don't want to offend others, but anyways, my best looking plant, the one that I am suspecting to be male has started growing those leafs in-between the nodes...where those really nice sweet round budz like to sit...I am still thoroughly convinced this is a male...I would just be elated if it turned out otherwise. I also went on ahead and topped it since it was growing its fifth set of leaves...never have topped before but like the results.. the other 4 are coming along nicely...that one that was really yellow is still kinda hurt, and I dont think it will fully recover by tomorrow, but surely within the next couple of days.

sat at home pretty much all day today so went to Lowes to pick up some gear..decided I wanted to test run that 600 cooltube and go on ahead and get this thing setup for the heat extraction...got that taken care of and didnt know if i should have the blower pulling from the side that is closes to the bulb or from the furthest side? anyways shit works really good...i maybe have 6 inches from lamp to blower....works for me.

  18. I respectfully bow out...catch yall around....I moved over to indoor section...hope to see you Eds around and everyone else...thanks for the mentoring man

  19. Ed, I'll +rep you when it'll let me. Lots of good info to be found here.

  20. Hey ML! I soak the seeds in RO for about 24 hours then pour into 1gal pot for best results :)

Hey Fuwii! Sorry for the slow response  Molasses is awesome for coco, it's food for the beneficial bacteria (if you have any LOL) and it supplies a few things like magnesium and sulfur. I use it myself, both liquid and dry forms.

I'm happy you found a good supplier, I wouldn't expect to find Marine Cuisine in too many places.

I think the abundance of magnesium was hurting the root structure so I backed off on that. Now I have mag defs LOL I'm trying sul-pu-mag now instead since it has a mega blast of potasium as well, so far so good...

Ah yes, Nautica is a fine one indeed :D The main thing I notice about the smart pots is all the damn water they go through! They dry up fast and water can shoot right on through, but if you can keep up with it the growth is excellent. Honestly I can't say if it's better than a standard plastic container (or whatever), but I do like how easy they are to work with. Transplanting is a bitch though so I have stopped using the #1's and use my square 1/2 gals instead, but my flower space is all #3's currently. I'm giving them the ol' college try and so far really like them.

    Absolutely!

    I say lettuce :smoke:

Hey Naughty, not sure what all the hubub was about but glad to see you using the MC & coco man, I hope they keep kicking ass!

Hey Jed! Glad you found some useful stuff here man, hope the coco treats you right brother :smoke:
