Hi all, Would anyone know what adding coco coir strings would do to the Ph of soil mix incorporating peat moss, humus, and perlite ? Thx
coco is usually very neutral and it will take on the PH of whatever you mix it with. You might want to start with a good flushing of the coco. ..also depending on the texture of the coco it might make it so that you will have to water more or less often. Finer coco ( pith) will hold more water longer and the more texturous chunks or strings of coco will hold much more air..which is great for the roots but will require a little more watering. I've found that roots like a good balance in between.
