co2 timers and digital controllers

  1. Hey guys,

In a thread of mine someone pointed out that co2 timers are whack and do not accurately put out the right amount of co2, and that the only way it is actually worth doing is with a digital controller...well they range from 400-1000 bucks so that is a little out of my range. I was seeing if

    A. Anyone had any experience with the timers and what they thought ect.

    B. Does anyone have a digital co2 controller that they want to part ways with

  2. Timers for co2 are whack, they just turn on your tank and boom co2. It doesn't know how much it's pumping into your room/closet/tent so it can't regulate it very well.

    HydroGen SenseAir® CO2 Monitor - Plantlighting Hydroponics

there ya go, $290 bucks will do very basic monitoring for you. max of 1500ppm and set it at like 1100-1300ppm min and your good to go mate.

  3. + rep for sure, but this is still way out of my price range. With the timer, if you have done the math, and know your room is air tight, shouldnt you be able to figure out a good schedule yourself, you just have to be a lot more hands on than with the controller, or am i wrong?

anyone else with any for sale?

  4. it never hurts to try, you're gonna be on your own for that one though. Everybodies room size is different which is gonna play a factor in how long you leave the co2 on for. Your also gonna have to get some way to test it. I think if you get syringe you can take samples of the air to measure the amount of co2 in the air. There's lots of ways around not using a controller, the only problem is that they just aren't very efficient you'll probably waste a shit ton of co2, which i think is kinda pricey to fill up too, it's probably not too bad but it's probably something you aren't gonna want to waste. Do the job right save some money till you can get that controller. This way you can tell me if it works well or not. I'm probably gonna look into co2 in a couple grow cycles.

With that hydrogen setup you could run co2 in a room for probably less than 500 bux if you get a cheap enough tank and/or found a cheap regulator too. That's a steal compared to what it cost most people here. Some people probably spend at least 1000 dollars just to run co2 alone.

Optimum Growth: OPTIMUM GROWTH CO2 SYSTEM [702010] - CO2 Generators, Parts & Environmental Controllers - Environmental Controllers, CO2 Generators, Fans, Blowers & Duct, Air Purification - Horticulture Source

what does this do? is this just a regulator? or is this something i could use? (obviously i need a regulator too but thats not really my problem, unless this was some hooked up 2 in one that knocked out the need for the digi controller)

better yet the deluxe one: http://www.horticulturesource.com/o...3027/?osCsid=3c68133bceed0ef1a67e0eeba19f36a9

That's a regulator, that just screws to the top of the tank, and have an electric power plug that goes into the controller. We'll say you set your controller for 1300ppm, the regulator will turn on, releasing the co2 from the tank, it will turn off at 1500ppm, and turn back on at 1300 etc etc...repeats the cycle.

yeah if you want to just run off a timer that's all you'd need. I would highly suggest saving the $190 you'll spend save another 100 and get the controller. I know you want it now, but it'll be more worth it for you and your grow op if you tap into your patience.

  8. The difference, well the difference would be price, they all pretty much do the same thing. Off topic, that guy that's sellin the milwaukiee brand one on ebay, great seller, good prices, I buy all my testing meters/solutions from that guy. And yes that's what I'm suggesting, it's your money though you can spend it however you like.

  9. ok thanks for your help...i might just get the tank/regulator now and save up for the ppm dealy

  10. that controller for 290 is the cheapest one i ever seen.i might have to save up for that one.if you use that 290 dollar controller will it turn the tank on every time the co2 levels drop to 1300?

  11. thanks for the help and the 290 is the cheapest one by far that ive seen. if i cannot get a deal anywhere then i guess thats what im gonna save up for.
