CMH

  1. I was wondering what people thought of their CMH bulbs? What kind of coverage can I expect for veg? How high above the canopy do they need to be?

I'm hoping they could cover a 4x4 area each and within a foot or so of the top of the canopy.

    Thanks

  2. u can VEG in a 4x4(itll be a little low intensity around the edges) but i feel the 315's best perform INSIDE of a 3x3 square... i have 5 (1 veg -4 flower) and i run them over 3x6 botanicare trays and feel the footprnt is perfect ( 2 lights per 3x6 table)

  3. I love mine. I hardwired the philips advanved ballasts to the digital timer and ran mogul base pendants mounted to rollers on a rail. I can grab them and move them where I want. They can get within 6" without burning. The pgzx18 base model have less glass around the element, so i'd say 12" is probably safe. I use 630 in veg over 8x3 with the option to go 945 but its just too much for what I do now.

These are the fixtures i would roll with if I went that route. The Soleil

  4. Thanks man, I was going to ask you about CMH in another thread.

My main goal is to eliminate the light stress I'm seeing when I move the plants from veg to flower. I'm currently using t5's for veg and 1200w de's for flower kicked down to 600w.

  5. Thanks for the reply! Do you think it would outperform a standard 600w MH in a 4x4 space?

  6. I'm doing 4x4 with 315 w Argos phillips bulb[IMG]

  7. I prefer to stack 2 units. I also do multistrain grows. I like a good sativa and a good indica in the bank. It gives me a little more flexibility. 1 is solid for a 3x3 footprint. I think you can hold them higher than people think. It has the penetrating power so with focused reflectors i keep it about 24". Ive seen guys with 6 footers and holding them 1 1/2 foot above the canopy. 2 would cover a 4x8 due to par stack. I dont run glass.

Go with the vertical burn. It makes a huge difference. Sun systems and phantom are top dog with a 315 phillips 3100 agromax...wtf am I saying...youre @ElRanchoDeluxe. You do your home work. Used to dealing with people that want you to do their homework.
