Was thinking about growing one or two plants in my closet. Could I buy everything but the seeds at a home depot or lowes? if so what do I need ?
You need to do alot of reading. There is no one solution to fit your needs. Alot of things can be bought at lowes home depot but some things will not be able to be purchased from there. To Start. You need light: HPS, HID, LED, FLUORESCENT Ventilation: This could be simple or involved depending on where you live and where the grow will be. So passive/active intakes and exhausts. Fans may be needed and most likely will be needed. Climate: So heating/cooling/humidity/co2/thermostats, Some of these things will need to be monitored or at least controlled. Growing equipment: So depending on what medium you decide to use soil/hydro/soilless mix. Then off of those there are different types say organic and chemical nutrients. Building supplies: Wall covering, hoods, pumps, meters, nutes, growing medium, wiring. I know ive left alot out but your first priority should be to get a notebook and start developing a plan. Start with your closet size dimensions, adjacent structures like what rooms are on the sides and top and bottom of it. Is there electricity running to it? You have to figure out what you have to work with and develop it. The resources are here but posting vague questions will get you vague answers. How ever to answer your question going budget you could buy most things from home depot, going with like a fluorescent t5 set up of some kind.
Yes and no. If you have a hydro store in your area you should visit it or a place like Grow Lights by High Tech Garden Supply | Your Online Hydroponics Store. Do some reading. Read the stickies at the top of the forums and google some grow guides.
