Closet Grow

  1. On the 28th I will move into a home with a walk in closet that measures 6x6 and 7 feet tall. My current plan is to grow 3 plants at a time using 5 gallon bubble buckets. Some experience with hydro, but allot to learn. Most of my design questions revolve around lighting and ventilation. In that space would it make more sense to use 2 400watt for better over all coverage or 1 1000watt for more total light. These are the lights I plan on getting,
400 Watt Sodium/Halide Switchable Radiant 8" Air Cooled Reflector Grow Light System
Exhaust will be piped out of vents on the roof of the home. What CFM would be best for this size room and should I also make in air in take line as room will be mostly sealed. Thanks for any help and all the info I have already gotten from this site.

  2. You definitely don't want a 1000W in that small of a space. Two 400W anythings will light it up plenty and give you much better coverage.

6 x 6 x 7 = 252 cubic feet. They say you should replace all of your air at least every 5 minutes. So anywhere from 50 CFM up should work.

If you haven't made or bought your bubble buckets yet, check out Rumpleforeskin's step-by-step. I'm not a hydro guy, but that posting of his makes me want to try it. I don't have the link handy, so just search for it if you're interested.

    Good luck!
