I'm gonna get a 400watt hps system and I was wondering I'm gonna grow in my closet which is in my garage so it stays pretty cool in there do you think I would need a venalation system? Or fans ?
Get a fan if nothing else. It will help move the air around so fresh air can get to the leaves. They also help build up their strength for when the flowers come.
the affect of the air being blown by the fan onto the plants simulates the wind. It helps, like someone already said, promote strong stem strength.
It shouldnt be cold where you grow, it should be around 75dF. Also, you need a fan/venting system so that the air is moved around and fresh CO2 is brought to the plant, otherwise it wont grow.
I got one lady growing now she's 10 1/2 inches tall with no fan and two cfls she's pretty health besides the fact I think she's has a STD lol bugs bit icant post pics comp down
Thats one 11" tall plant. If you are growing a few 4' females, if there is no ventilation, they will all suffer. No matter how few or small the plants are, they NEED CO2 to survive. If you are lacking in CO2, the plant will not grow as big, bud as well, or have as good bud as one that was provided fresh CO2. Ever wonder why people get CO2 generators? I can assure you it isnt just to say they have it, it actually does something.
Yes, it would work just fine. As for the fan being pointed directly on the plant, that is good as well, just not a hurricane type wind. And for the temperature question, im sure the hps will heat the grow space up significantly and you will have to figure some way to maintain heat in the space during dark hours, you dont want a 25 degree drop when the lights go out.
lol co2 generators are like 500 bucks, no offense but that does not seem like something youre trying to do, even just getting a tank and a regulator and a timer is like 250 bucks total and you still have toget that filled a bunch.
you could maybe squeeze in a generator, thats about what im working with (a little less) and i am struggling even if i go with a co2 tank set up, so its gonna be a tight squeeze. rundown of basic costs 600w hps +ballast+ reflector +timer~ 300 seeds ~ 75 fan~ 120 soil ~ 50 (multiple bags of ffof) mylar/panda film~50 so thats already about 600 bucks before nutes/pots/perlite/ducting/misc that can really add up then if you add a 500 (minimum) dollar co2 generator youve already gone past your limit for sure
$1K will get you $300 in lights, $200 for a good hydro set up, $100 for a fan+ducting, $200 for a RO water system, and $200 for nutes, seeds, and mylar.
no doubt. And thats a good set up. Im on an extremely tight budget using CFL's, ive only spent 80 bucks, thats lights, fan, soil, nutes, reflectors, pesticides and so on. Check it out! its my first growMy First Grow!help greatly appreciated!
