Closet grow - CFL, Coco coir, bagseed

  1. Looks really good so far, I'm subscribed. Your plants are a little over a week ahead of mine, so I'll have something to compare mine too. :D

Best of luck to you, hope you get some nice females out of the bunch.

  2. That's a cool little spot to stash your grow. I like the fixture you have as well, I should probably have made something like that to start out. Your larger plant looks a bit bigger than mine, although mine sprouted on the 9th, so I think you got a bit of a headstart.

    Looking pretty good, either way.

  3. AWESOME!!! i like your watering system a lot!! they are looking real nice man.. subscribed:D

    good luck:smoke:

  4. subscribed!

  5. Thanks for hanging out everybody, I have some rolled on the table there, help yourself...

Here's the watering kit I said I'd put a pic up of, really good deal at Home Depot though I'm sure most garden centers have something similar.

    DAY 12 - SOLID GROWTH

    Lights: 4 x 26w 6500 @ 18/6 ~~ Nutes: none ~~ ph: 6.4 ~~ Temps: 74-80 ~~ rh: 50%
    --------------------------------------------------------------

Well the ladies seem to be catching their stride, every time I look in there I see noticeable growth. The coco continues to impress me with the moisture retention and even distribution of it and the plants seem very happy with it. It has no nutritional content so the plants are still living off of their own supply.

Linda is telling me she's ready for some real food though, Christy not so much but I think by tomorrow she will be ready as well. So I'll mix up a light batch of nutes and give those ladies a drink, but I'll let Tracy wait until the next round as she's not quite ready yet.

I can't wait to see how they come along in the next few days! I'll post more pics on Sunday (Day 15).

  8. Lookin good! This isn't your first rodeo, is it?

  9. They look good so far, very healthy. :D

  10. This is a great journal! What size of pots did you use? I really like how clean your setup is and, from the sound of it, very inexpensive!

I'm in process of starting my first ever grow and this thread is going to me help me quite a bit!!!

    Lovely pictures by the way~

  11. Your pornstars sure are looking good!! Is your day count from the time you started to see green above the soil? Trying to figure out how far behind you I am... because I count today as day 7 (But day 1, was the day i put them between paper towels) -- and your plants have FAR MORE growth than mine.

  12. Thanks for the kind words everyone! This whole journaling thing is new to me and very rewarding to share the grow - since it has to be a secret!

Hey graphuto, it' the first rodeo in the last 10-15 years LOL Things have changed a lot since last time I grew anything, it wasn't even legalized in Cali yet.

Santiago - those pots are roughly 1.25 gals, my wife found them at the $.99 store and came home with a big stack of them. I plan to flower them out in these since I'm not really after a good yield this grow, just need a lady for the next grow is all... and yes I keep it cheap where I can!

Chickadie - I count day one when the porno girls surface and show off their pair of... whatever you call those :hello: Some seeds germ in 24 hours while others take a week like these, so to level the field and give a decent measure of growth to compare, I start the clock when they break ground and/or open up (usually the same day).

I think the decent growth is due to this medium mix , I swear this stuff is sooooo loose it will not compact. I can take a handful or freshly watered medium and squeeze it firmly - when I open my hand it crumbles away like they were grains of sand. This means the roots can stretch out freely and there's plenty of air for them, which is a major boost to early growth. I think they will slow down when they get root bound in the next week or two though - which is when I plan to take cuts and flip them into flowering.

  13. Are you planning on using any training techniques, or are you going to just let them go their own way?

  14. For this round I don't plan to do anything to them, just let them go and speed them through SOG style - just with fewer plants LOL I may top Linda tonight when the lights come on, she looks like a classic southern sativa that will shoot for the sky and grow to 6 feet if I don't so something about it.

Should I find a female to clone though, I plan to give the scrog method a try on the next go, that seems to be the yielder's choice. I know you're planning on scrogging too so I'll be watching your grow this round :smoking:

  15. You stole my idea, lol. I was hoping to watch your progress and take notes. If you do decide to top the sativa-looking plant, I have a request for some close up pics of the topped plant in the days following. I'm planning on doing a little of this as well, and it would be nice to see what it looks like as it heals and the new shoots come up.

  16. Did you have to drill any holes into the bottom of the pots or did they come pre-drilled? I'm really excited to see your progress

  17. I had to drill holes, which was fine because I needed very small holes to contain the perlite and coco particles. So I drilled about 8 pea-sized holes in the bottom and several around the bottom edges. I found the gray bus tub laying around the house, but they sell those at Sams for $3 (or any restaraunt supply) and the pots fit pretty good in there. The runoff water helps bump up the humidity a bit, which is good at this stage of the grow.

Good luck on planning your grow! Let me know when you get going or if you want to bounce ideas around, I'm always down with helping out if I'm able.

  18. Very nice looking plants!! Vibrant.

  19. Ditto, here! I want to see what it looks like as well!
