Cloning without chemicals

  1. Hi GS!

Just wondering if it's possible to clone without using cloning gels, rooting solutions etc... ???
  2. Sure is, rooting hormone just hedges your bets.
  3. how is it done without chemicals? step by step would be fantastic!
  4. Cloning can be as simple or as complicated as you'd care to make it. Aero/bubble cloners, as pointed out, are practically idiot proof and require nothing more than water. Tetra makes some nice, quiet air pumps these days.
    With normal/easy to root strains, I don't even bother tho. I use (a) a jar (b) a fluorescent light (c) tap water.

Take cuttings, drop in jar of tap water, set under light. Dump/refill water every 3 days. When roots OR substantial root bumps show, plant.
BTW: The chlorine content of tap water is your friend in this case as it keeps algae at bay... at least as long as you change the water every few days.

  5. try googling homemade willow root hormone, willow tree stems make a good rooting hormone, my grandmother did this with all her plants when i was a young one it always worked for house plants!
