  2. how effective are the 14000k CFLs for clones when compared to 6400k?

  3. GH Rapidstart

  4. I'm sorry NOME I'm not Familiar with what "k" represents. I'm more familar with wattage? I'm assuming kilowats. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with kilowatts. Two 55 watt bulbs or the like will do for a standard 66 hole tray which is what I use

  5. Hey! I just started a thread with questions so here ya go bro.

So another question. This time it's about clones. For months I have been watching videos, reading books, and trawling forums like a phedophile at the beach, and still, I am having troubles cloning my plants. I have a plant box, growth hormone and all the blah blah blah, yet my clones are still not taking. I am however planting into a seed cloning, "soil" I want to transplant later to clay balls.
What should I use to clone, rock wool? Do I need to give the rooting clones light? And so fourth. None of thaws questions are ever answered, some say yes light some say no, either way how do I know they have taken? And they are ready for transplant. Thanks guys.

masturbation is overrated. Get a fleshlight!!!!

  6. Hey fat loser thank you so much for the question!

You need to use 24 hour light or at least 18 or 20. You'll watch for new growth that's how you know that the roots have taken they are not ready for transplant until roots poke out of the bottom the more roots, the better and it quicker the plant will take after transplant. With clay pellets you can get away with the rock wood cork no problem.

Depicted here is a bud that I just finished trimming today
And the root system of 1 of those plants that I chopped up from and was in rockwool.

Let me know if that helps!

  7. Yeah man helps heaps.
Thanks. Quick question though I'm still unsure, should I somehow cut my clones out if the rock wool to change to pellets or can I just keep the plant in the same rock wool for the duration if its life?
What system are you using. Im planing in dwc will this work with rock wool??

  8. If your talking about clones, as stems in the process of rooting, then light is not important at all, just a single small cfl, will provide all the light the plant needs to grow roots. And I doubt the 14000k would be much good aside from maybe supplemental lighting in veg, seems to be way off spectrum wise.

If your considering going to clay balls (hydroton I assume) I cannot stress and recommend it enough, build a small bubble cloner, or an Aero cloner if your ambitious enough and you check stuff daily. Even if your going to soil, STILL, go with a bubble cloner or Aero. Its a nice peace of mind to be able to lift a lid and see the roots starting to form and see how the roots look before sticking a fresh clone to veg mode.

As far as light goes, the clone is a branch of the plant, its not trying to grow, its trying to remake a root system for survival, 1 small light is more than enough to keep clones alive. Clones will root under almost any light condition, 18/6, 20/4, 24/0 .... they will root, just takes time.

  10. If you look at 99% of bulbs, HID's, CFL, LED, you'll quickly find that the ultraviolet spectrum is seldom ever talked about.

I have practically 99.9% success in my cloners, they are sheltered from light, they only get what's reflected from a 2' 4 bulb t5, which is very little.

  11. Thank you gnome

I looked at the item on ebay and it looks like it's a goodbuy. With a typical 66 plant tray you probably can get away with just that 1 bulb. As far as kelvins I am unfamiliar with them and I will research it and get back to you. You might find a better person asking in a different forum honestly. It's sort of lighting question. You can always ask in the " so you want to grow your own marijuana" thread . Which I can post a link to if you would like

  12. I use a 100w daylight CFL currently - my clones work about 99% of the time but they take 2 weeks - i've heard of people doing it in a week

If i'm selling an order of clones to someone - i might need to have over 100 plants in my grow room - as cannabis cultivation is illegal where i live - the longer my clones take to root - the more likely iam to get caught with 100+ plants - rather than the 30 that are actually mine.

  13. Build an Aero cloner. Roots in 4-7 days consistently for me, tap water only, no rooting gels, no fancy light, just some branches stuck in a bucket getting sprayed.

  14. 6500 k for veg..3500 k for flower

  15. How many clones do you need? Very easy with a domed tray ...produces 20 plants month

I should apologize for giving incorrect statements regarding the hours a clone should be under light. Thank you very much for the corrections and just to be clear I recommend people seek multiple opinions since incorrect advice to be devastating to your grow.
    Thank you so much.

    MOSESNUMB THANK YOU!
    NOME, my apologies

I believe MOSESNUMB is correct & more informed than I am on this topic.

  17. You seem to know a lot about plants -

There's so much conflicting information, particularly in regards to lighting - but i think that this is a probably a reflection of just how versatile plants can be.

  18. This is my same issue. To light or not to light. I heard that plants new darkness to promote root growth?

masturbation is overrated. Get a fleshlight!!!!

  19. Heat is the only issue...heat is energy. More energy. More plant.

  20. Root tech gel ,rock wool cubes, 6500 t5s cfl
    Cant go wrong
