So I took one cutting from my best male and one cutting from my most favored female. Short and bushy girl. Anyways, im trying one in just water with rooting hormone powder from Lowe's, and the other with rooting hormone powder in soil. I've read and hesrd different things here so.....lightz on or off for new cuttings? I brought them indoors to start and to keep some parent plants over winter Sent from my LG-M150 using Tapatalk
I put mine under the same light duration and timing as the plants i took them from. Just not as bright. Worked well for me. 20 clones cut, all 20 rooted.
Oddly enough, after mixing that rooting hormone with the water and submerging the cut part after splitting them stem about 1/4 inch , I can already see tiny roots coming out. Its insane. The soil plant I obviously cant see but it hasnt wilted at all so I'm taking that as a good sign Sent from my LG-M150 using Tapatalk
I cut the leaves in half, it puts less stress on it while it is trying to grow roots. I have used powder root hormone and liquid and prefer the liquid because I have gotten slightly better results but both work. I usually do mine directly in soil and outside in 100% diffused light, usually on my front porch. Misting with a spray bottle several times a day for the first week.
