I know that cloning an auto isn’t the greatest idea because of the life cycle of the plant, and the clone basically starts its life from the time that it was taken from the original plant.

But I was doing some trimming / lollipopping on my Blueberry Auto and accidentally cut off one of the smaller branches that was forming preflowers. So I acted fast and stuck it in some rockwool and put the rockwool in some Coco-loco with some additional worm castings and it actually rooted and is growing lol.

I know this isn’t a new discovery or anything but I thought it was cool.

I’ll post a picture in a minute. This damn Talkatalk app is pissing me off!! Even though I have an account it won’t let me post any pics.

  2. yayyy! someone liked my post! lol

  3. I could be wrong (my newbieness as a grower tells me that I'm probably wrong) but I would think that the cloned auto would pretty much pick up where the mother was in veg cycle, meaning it will prematurely (probably poor word usage) flower. Probably not a complete loss, I'm sure you'll get SOMETHING off of it, but I wouldn't think it would be any amazing yield or anything.

  4. You are correct. I tried explaining that in my post but probably didn’t do a very good job. I’m not expecting more than a couple of grams, but it is a good experiment for me because I want to see how quickly and how much it will grow in a 100% organic medium, compared to my other one which is feeding off of Fox Farm nutes.

This is my last grow with Fox Farm ANYTHING. I have 2 large bags of Kind Soil ready to go for my next two autos.

I was just surprised that it took root and kept growing after I chopped it off. I’ve never grown a clone before

  5. Haha, I had a very similar issue last week. You can read more about it in my grow journal in my signature. Long story short due to irresponsibility on my part, my light fell on one of my girls, and I decided to try and clone since it was either that or I just completely write off 2-3 weeks of veg as lost. Out of 8 clones taken 8 days ago, so far four have taken root. I wanted to try and clone, I just wasn't ready yet, same situation as you I'd imagine. Mine was a photoperiod plant so I don't have the autoflower worries that you have (at least not with this plant)

Definitely a good experiment to do, just not so pleasant when you aren't ready for it. (My 4x4 tent has 4 6ish week old girls in 5 gal buckets, with 2 2 week old photoperiod girls, and 2 northern light auto flowers in it.) I definitely don't have room for all 8 clones to take root (really don't have room for even one to take root) but here I am trying to deal with this dilemma. I just ordered a 60x48x80 tent with a separate lodge that I can do different light cycles in (ie veg/autoflower rather than running everything on 18/6 like in the large grow space)

I'll keep an eye on the post to see how your harvest goes as I'm pretty curious to see how this accidental auto clone pans out. Good luck!

  6. there was a great auto cloning answer above. side note your plants look hot. what are your temps? or your light is to close.

  7. The real question should be why are you using auto clones ?

I got a auto gorilla glue plant and thought it was a normal MJ plant.
The plant started to bud in 8 weeks
First set of cones went into budding when the plant was about 6 weeks old ,
The clones I took off the first set of clones went straight into budding at 6 to 8 inches tall .

  8. I’m not using auto clones. All of my autos are from seed. I just thought it would be fun to try and grow a small auto clone from a small branch I accidentally removed.

  9. If you don't mind me asking why use Auto seeds ?

I mainly grow Amnesia Haze strain started by reg seeds .
I can put my plants into budding at any time or size and I don't have to buy expensive seeds every grow ..
Once the strain is started, its all cloning from there on..
I grow in a aeroponic set up at a accelerated growth rate .
I have personally helped other growers to start growing Amnesia Haze strain just so I always have a source of FEMALE Amnesia haze clones ..
My personal way of not losing the strain or have to pay high dollar for the seeds every time I start the grow all over again .
And I don't have to screw around with males or some feminized seed plant that just decides to hermaphrodite.
Feminized male seeds are prone to hermaphrodite.

    Just asking
Where is the fruit of using auto flower feminized seeds at 5 to 10 bucks each ?

  10. All valid questions. For me, growing autos is an easy way for me to always have a perpetual harvest going. My light schedule never changes — it stays at 20 on 4 off regardless of the stage of growth they are in. So, I can have a couple autos vegging and a couple finishing in the same tent instead of having a propagation area, a veg tent, and a flowering tent. I may get there one day, however.

Trust me, I would LOVE to only grow from clones. I just don't have the resources to do so right now. So, I'm sticking to growing only autos.

My next grow that I am about to start will be in supersoil / no-till soil where I will only have to water. I'm hoping this will simplify the growing process for me because I am a business owner and have very little time to dedicate towards managing a large grow space. I would, however, LOVE to learn how to grow hydroponically or aeroponically. I realize that both methods can accelerate the growth of plants compared to growing in soil. I just don't know where to start, what equipment to purchase, etc.

If you have a good resource you can point me to that could teach me aeroponics, I'd be grateful. I think it would be a lot of fun to learn how to do that. I've seen some aeroponic grows, and they were impressive.

A side note — I do have a small 24" x 24" x 48" tent that I haven't even taken out of the box yet that I could use to keep a mother plant so that I could grow with clones, but I don't have the cash right now to invest in another exhaust fan, filter, etc. I do have 2 Roleadro 400 watt COB lights that aren't being used right now, too that would be perfect for that.

  11. If auto flowering seeds work for you then that's great.
I fully understand trying to get your plants harvesting in certain time cycles .

    Aeroponics
I bought my first aeroponic system knowing that I was going to copy the system which I have .
Very easy for me to source out the parts for someone wanting to make their own aeroponic diy system .
If you ever want help welcome to PM me .

I grow indoors, I have 3 plants per 4x8 x 7.5 foot tall ligjhthouse hydro tents
I have two 4x8 tents going , 3 plants per tent , one walk in closet , where I keep 6 plants starting to grow or in full blown VEG .
I am trying to get a harvest every 10 to 13 weeks .
Its really tough to get the cycle started where you always have a harvest coming in every 10 to 13 weeks
I am thinking of using a mother plant to get clones from but its more room I don't want to get up..

If you ever get north of sin city get in touch, have no issues smoking up a storm with you..
