Cloning Advice

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by lilmink, Aug 30, 2020.

  1. Looking for tips and tricks to clone the most efficiently. Where on the plant should I cut from? How big/small should the cut should be? Does there need to be leaves on the cut?

I just cut a bunch of branches I'll post pictures here please tell me what I did right or wrong on these and if I can make multiple cuts off one branch?

    Thanks.

  2. The last picture is the right idea, you'll want atleast three nodes. Once you have got a cutting you want to clone cut the bottom of the stem at a 45° angle and smash the cut and either place it in some wet soil (by wet I dont mean seedling water wet but let the water run through the pot and fully soak it then keep it wet till new growths. May get a little iffy but it's never failed me.

  4. So is the 3rd if you cut off the stem about halfway down. You can make clones out of all of these if you do some trimming.

I took these not 12 hours ago lol...very similar to yours..like stated above..3-4 nodes long and I like to make my 45 degree cut directly thru the center of a node (not sure if this actually helps but i was taught this way and i have really good luck) ,I soak them in water for about 30min, then shave a small strip off the back of the stem and then i cut all the fan leaves in half...i don't use any type of humidity dome (under LED) i just keep the media wet until i see new growth....hope this helps, good luck
