Hi all, my attempts at cloning have always been awfull, like 10% success rate if I'm lucky! I have tried rooting powder and gel, straight to soil, and in water. Tried with mature plants, and younger ones, like these here... I have x2 Seedstockers golden lemon haze (grown from seed before, I have here a classic sativa pheno GLH.1 and a bushy indica type GLH.2) and a Dutch Passion Durban poison. Are they simply too young, or can I take the leaders off now and have a good chance of them rooting? If so how?! And where to cut? Man y thanks in advance......
I used to clone like @BrassNwood and I still can, but I prefer now to use an aeroponic cloning machine. Here's a link to a DIY model, but you can also purchase them for not too much money nowadays. A cheap and effecient cloner I also use it to start seeds, which accelerates the process.
I still clone like BNW more or less, I use rooting plugs or coco/perlite in cell trays with a dome. Cut 1/4-1/2 inch below a node at an angle, dip in clonex and place into plugs or tray. Recently I've also been sterilizing the cells, trays, and dome with a strong bleach solution, and adding about 3 drops of bleach and a splash of nutrients to each quart of water I soak the plugs in and water the coco/perlite with (A little gem of knowledge I picked up from the guy behind Schwaggy Seeds). Since I started following his cloning guide, I've been getting much more consistent rooting. Got 25/25 cannabis clones to root last time.
I wouldn't clones these they are to small note the size of the cuts below, BMW's the length of his scissors, I prefer the length of your pencil each cut, I also prefer to use honey over clonex its antiseptic too the rule I use in cloner or rooter is up and running in 10 days or restart, as theirs so much that can go wrong but it gets better with practice, consider 20 cuts for your first try expect 1-2 to work, maybe not that bad but you gotta assume that good luck
