Clones vs seed

  1. My neighbor is a grower that sells clones, my ? Is will it yield less than a seed from the same strand?

  2. A seed can yield more than a clone, and clone can yield more than a seed. It is up to the gardener and the gardens conditions

  3. No, if vegged for similar times it will yield the same and some people even say a clone will yield more than seed because a seed takes time to germinate where as a clone is already a semi-established plant. Clones are good if they aren't charging too much. If you get a clone, grow it out and right before you flower take a couple more clones off of it. Then you have your own. They're easy to do.

  4. my seeds produced some wicked roots compared to rooted clones for some reason

  5. Seeds will produce roughly 10% better then a clone, maybe u can rough thos % down with good clone care, A clone is still an old induvidual, most cooperations buy seeds annually for big bulks of cash. Bring on the bombardment! :smoking: Use to work at this sweet chilli farmer, friggen wierdo but had some good 2 cents!

  6. Right on, thanks for all the good info. I think ill just go with clones since it will save time. They are 15-20 per clone.

  7. They better be big and real healthy for that price...but clones are the way to go IMO...ensures all plants will be females at the very least and cuts veg time considerably

  8. I'd go with a clone, they take a while to get started but it sure beats the month+ you stare at a seedling before they get moving

plus guaranteed female, higher rate of herming with fem seeds vs clones, etc etc

  9. I should say, I *am* going with clones, after growing both

  10. seed's will produce better quality bud clones will produce higher quantity of bud when veg times are equal

  11. seeds will produce better quality bud than a clone of the same plant?

try posting again when you have some idea what you're talking about.

  12. seeds hand down will produce better yeilding buds!!!...BUT..it takes longer to go thru the process...

if your a newbie...use good rooted clones

  13. Cloning—In biology and agriculture, any organism whose genetic information is identical to that of a parent organism from which it was created

    Key word, identical.

you need to read about cloning a clone it's proven that thc percentage usually drops the more times you clone and genetics get messed up.

theoretically they're identical but in reality they almost never are due to gene mutations

  16. All depends on how you grow it

  17. My durban is over twenty years old and hasn't changed a lick, badkitty had a plant almost twice as old if I remember right, the genetics are solid as a rock to this day. Cloning does not cause genes to modify/mutate, nurture might, nature won't.

  18. I think you are mistaking the exception for the the rule. There CAN be genetic mutations because of stress or environmental factors. But that isn't usually the case. There are many clone only strains that are still as great as the day they were started. I personally prefer growing from clone and have gotten some amazing quality from them.

  19. especially when compared to seed.

thc degrading? somebody's still circulating rumors from the 60s...
