Clones in bad soil?

  1. So here's the story. I have a buddy who grows on the cheap. When he harvests the quality of his bud is less then average.

I am currently have a 400w HPS, 420 CFM fan, OMRI listed (great) soil, good nutrient line, and some other little things.

He waters his plants with tap water that has not been checked for PH (doesnt know what PH is). I have seen his clones before and they are all green and fairly perky and look decent in health. I know his soil is not so good.

If I were to purchase of one or two of his clones when I transplanted it would be in better soil but the original crap would still be there.

Could I grow these clones into healthy plants or should I not bother?

  2. Always a chance it could go into shock, but you'll probably be fine.

  3. They will be fine. Tons of people use a different soil(s) between cloning/veg/flower stages. Even if it shocks, it can be fixed into a healthy plant.
