I built one on RF's clone machine's. It works great but after a few days it has started to smell rotten. I added some olivia's cloning solution to the bucket with water. temp is about 80. Does anyone know what can cause this??
Mine gets a little smelly but they root like champs. Just change the water every 1-2 weeks when you remember, little stink is normal... smelling like an unknown Tupperware container from the back of the fridge... no.
Your smell is coming from the water temps. When they get too high, things start to get rotten. Add a little hydrogen peroxide to your water, and try to lower the temp.
Definitely too hot! Get the temps down in the lower 70's if possible. Also, there is this stuff called Aquashield that prevents mold and bacteria growth. You might want to pick up some of this stuff. Also a nod on replacing the water at least once a week.
I think they are right on with temps as mine smells... different but not bad. Which I assumed is pretty normal considering they have no problem rooting.
two of my clones smell bad not the clone themselves but the jiffy puck theyre in smells horrible. any advice? the others are rooting and doing fine except for those 2.
