Clear phlegm with brown spots?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Younggungrower, Aug 30, 2013.

  1. This only started happening after recently switching from concentrates to flower out of a bong. About a week or 2 ago.

  2. To clarify, the phlegm started about a week or two ago, I switched some months back from Dabs to weed out of my bong which I haven't smoked much for flower at all in years expect the occasional joint here and there.

  3. Dammit, Shit I am no help at all .
    And here I thought we were close .

    Hope your health is fine ..

  4. Yeah me too! I have two toddlers so I need to stay alive and healthy at least until they are adults I do feel great otherwise, still working out, sleeping and eating fine. I'll update with any information or lack thereof I received from my GP this week. I do find comfort in knowing others have this issue and seem to be alive and well.

  5. Hey guys I visited my GP yesterday, she did the in office basics and said everything looks and sounds fine. Waiting on blood work and a chest xray but I do assume it will come up clear. I did cough up quite a bit before a steam shower last night and haven't coughed anything up this morning which is the first time in two weeks. She said smokers cough/phlegm can happen to heavy cannabis users the same way it does smokers, in fact you're more likely to cough shit up because cannabis doesn't paralyze the cilia like cigarettes do ‍♀️ I will continue to update as things change.

    Stay sweet, high and healthy ❤️✌️

  6. Hey guys! No update as of yet from my doctor on the results of my Chest Xray or bloodwork. I will say that things have changed, I don't know for the better or not I would say the amount I am coughing up has reduce by almost half however the consistency changed from large brown specks to smaller more grey in colour specks. I still feel great and am working out fine with no chest pain or discomfort! I'll update when my results come on even if they don't find anything.

    I will note I have not smoked for the duration of time since this started, hopefully things continue to clear up for me.

  7. Ok folks, I did not go through every single comment, but enough to see that nobody here knows (even your doctors) what the hell this spotted sputum is. It is a PARASITE(S). These spotted phlegm images are lung fluke eggs, and dung. Not joking one bit. The bong hits and the smoking cigarettes STAIN the eggs and dung so you can see them better. That's it. Seriously, I went through this for 6 months. The doctor calls for Prazaquentl, Fenbendazole, AND Triclabendazole fir the resistant flukes. Triclabendazole can only be gotten from the cdc, so that has to be ordered from ukraine, HomeLabVet or something. Not kidding one bit here folks. Supposedly 60% of us are infected with parasites. The more raw foods you eat, the more likely.

  8. If you have a microscope with an oil objective, I urge you to check the spots.

  9. These are direct evidence of lung flukes. Parasites.

  10. Hi guys.

    I have the same thing as everyone else in this thread. 10 years of smoking cigarettes, quit 1.5 years ago. But I've been smoking weed almost every day for about the last 2.5 years or so.
    I had this mucus for a few months before I quit smoking, then I quit smoking and didn't smoke weed for 2 months. It disappeared as a result. But appeared again when I returned to smoking weed.
    I had an x-ray and the doctor said everything is fine and it is my lungs clearing up. Plan to take PFT and O2 level tests in the near future.

    But @PissGripeWhineMoan really scared me yesterday. I have a microscope at home, not really good though.
    Here are some photos.

    It looks like many small brown bubbles. But I don't think there are any eggs, I can see that it is more like bubbles of water covered with smaller bubbles of resin.
    However, I am not a doctor and cannot be sure.

    @PissGripeWhineMoan Thoughts?
    @M.marie any update from you?

  11. Hey do you have any update on your health ? Or how it’s progressed so far ?

  12. I’ve had the exact same problem for a week, my phlegm started clearing up after drinking a lot of orange juice (Florida Natural Pulpy) to be exact. It’s been two weeks now and my phlegm was completely gone for a day and came back the next day because I got greedy and wanted a smoke. I would just like to know how your health progressed so far as of this month

  13. Hey @Pabloplayhouse

    Not too much a change. I was smoking a few times recently, but much less than before. I still have this phlegm almost every day, but, again, MUCH MUCH less than before, right now it is just small pieces.

    My doctor said that it may be because of the bad diet and prescribed me Pantoprazole to reduce the acid level in my stomach or something like that. Hard to be sure, but maybe it helped.

    I am waiting for phlegm lab analysis, PFT, and O2 tests. It is crazy how long people should wait for a doctor in this country.

    I feel good, nothing more to share.

    P.S About the photos above - I think there are white blood cells cleaning resin from my lungs.

  14. Tbvh I see no one getting better or actually making a full recovery, I honestly just say smoke, but I do want to live too see many more years too come

  15. Hey I found this, if anyone wanted some comfort

  16. I'm going to put my 2 cents in on this discussion.
    I'm almost 40, have puffed tough since I was 16. Nearly every single day.
    I was cigarette smoker for 15 years, years 15-30.
    I went to urgent care this year and had chest xray. They said no infection.

    During pandemic I puff like 3x more than normal. I'm still working from home 3 years later.
    I use bong. The bong is not something I clean more than once per week. It is gross as hell. If you do a search for "bong lung" I think you will find this sputum/phlegm color relates to bong use. I am going to try a new piece soon or work harder to clean my current bong but I think it will make situation healthier. Joints are healthiest for the lungs as far as amount of tar produced. I don't know if it will ever go away, but maybe if I do vacation somewhere warm.

    I got sick twice this year, once with covid, and recently with either RSV/cold. Both times the phlegm increased.

    For me, the cough occurs only after meals. This could do something with GERD/acid reflux I suspect but I think its good to have these lungs clear themselves out.

    In general I am dehydrated. I know I am not getting proper salt/water ratio in me. I am not drinking 4 glasses of water per day. So this is probably huge part of the problem. Start the day with 2 glasses of water and this should really help your overall health.

    I know if I quit for about a month, the cough and phlegm would go away. I hope to do that soon. It's hard to stop but its worth it to do breaks if you can.

    @portlandborn Thank you for sharing.

    My update after 3 months: I am not smoking at all for more than a month and 2 months before that I was smoking very little. But I still have it sometimes.

    I've done PFT+O2 test and lab test for bacteria, everything is okay.

    Also, I was taking Pantoprazole for 2 weeks recently and for the last 10 days I didn't have any sputum at all.
    So yes, I think our lungs are fine, it is something with the stomach. Probably eating a lot of junk food for years is not too good.

    I'll keep you guys updated.

    P.S I found one guy with the same symptoms online. He said that doctors found some fungus in his lungs, but my doctor said that he doesn't think it is the case, because only people with the weak immune system have it.
    In a few months, I'll go to a lung specialist and will see.

  18. Hey guys, I have it for a long time too. I read every page and every comment on this topic. I went to
    otorhinolaryngology and pulmonologist
    and even internal medicine. None of them have any idea about it. My phelgm is exactly the same in the photos that you guys published here. I didnt read this topic before. I will go see the same doctors with the idea that I got here from you guys. I will update this post if anything comes out of it.As extra information, I should say that I quit smoking and marijuana 2 months ago. But this phlegm has been going on for 2 years. Ideas that I gotten from this post that I think are more possible are:
    High likely: lung flukes eggs (parasite/s)?
    High likely2: Fungus- or Bong lung from excessive use of marijuana on daily basis without cleaning the bong?
    less likely: copd?
    Cheers..

  19. I have this problem in the morning, but usually sputum comes out right after I eat anything. I don't feel any acid burns in my throat or anywhere I dont know if I should too. But I started to think that this theory is very likely, even more probable than what I wrote above. I will definitely discuss this with my doctor.
    Cheers..

    @BigCanadianBoy

    ut @PissGripeWhineMoan really scared me yesterday. I have a microscope at home, not really good though.

    @PissGripeWhineMoan Thoughts?
    My thoughts center on 3 words: Transmission Electron Microscopy. T.E.M. allows for microfauna with transparent integuements (invisible skin) to be seen. Quick side note: Did you know that a genus of rotifers (Asplanchna) was scientifically described without ever having been seen? This genus of "wheel animalcules" was only described because at times certain organs could be seen under a compound light microscope, like yours and mine. But the organs were different enough to warrant a new genus name, Asplanchna. So what I basically just told you was that there are microinvertabrates that cannot be seen with even the best compound scope. They have transparent skins. To the lay person that means "invisible". TEM
    I'm not sure how many there are, but you can guarantee that more than one phyla in kingdom animalia besides Asplanchna live their lives transparent. Parasites included. How many? I don't know because it's difficult to find literature on invisible animals. I plan to write a loooong paper about microfauna with transparent integuements, and it's going to be called something real similar to: "On Some Invisible Microfauna".
    Doctors today have a condition known as "Semmelweis Reflex". It is A mindset probably inserted by the AMA during their schooling that forbids these doctors from seeing, understanding, or admitting anything new in medicine.
    Then you have companies like Merckk putting out the Delusional Parasitosis videos which program everyone who watches them that: anyone who says they have parasites that cannot be seen by somebody else is delusional. These sick people who claim as much have no parasites because they can't be seen by the naked eye.
    Now the cards are stacked against us from even mentioning the word parasite around our PCP or general practioner. We speak up and we are labelled delusional.
    Have you noticed in your microscope how all these dots are not just scattered everywhere? For instance if you coughed up just dirty phlegm and saw a bunch of spots like this, shouldn't the spots be scattered everywhere with no invisible lines or cohesiveness around them? More often than not all these dots have a sort of outline... and it's not because your epithelial cells (which look quite different) all lined up real pretty so you could have a good impression of them; it's because they have a physical border to their bodies that is transparent. The spots are detritus, dung, eggs, and their skin. Viewed with a TEM scope the animals in your and my lungs can be made visible.
    A significant number of Small animals can also extrude materials or attract these materials from the environment to cover themselves and enter a state of torpor (just like waterbears do). It's called cryptobiosis. Lack of oxygen triggers anoxybiosis. Salt imbalances triggers osmobiosis. Lack of free water triggers anhydrobiosis. The list is extensive. But the idea here is that microfauna can pretty much survive anything by BEING INVISIBLE, or going into a dauer state like cryptobiosis.
    If you scope enough of your phlegm, and over time, and add stains or other chemicals, eventually you will see the outlines of a single parasites body, maybe. And you won't recognize it enough to say "i know what that is". Neither will ANY doctor who does not do research in the specific area of microfauna.
    Here's an interesting experiment. If you find ANY odd objects laying on the floor or carpet around your home, pick it up with tweezers and place it on a slide. Get the object to where you can see it good,and add a single drop of fresh or bottled water on top of it. If it starts shaking violently , continue watching. Sometimes within seconds you can see "something" separate from the object. It will be like a tiny wave of water, or a distorted view of the water going away from the object. That's a microfauna coming out of cryptobiosis. If there is no material around to cover themselves with, and they have no material inside them to extrude, they attach to the closest object and dehydrate onto it.
    If you still have these spots,or other strange things happening, like all of a sudden you get arthritis in just one finger (happened to me) or you get sudden stabbing pains in TINY areas of your skin with the urge to remove them immediately, report back and I can tell you what medicines I took.
    So my thoughts are if you are still afflicted, you might as well not tell anybody else because you will be labeled delusional even though you have never had any mental illness. Especially your spouse. I lost mine because of this. I have thousands of photomicrographs I've taken centered around the brown phlegm spots. I'll dig through and put some here with my conclusions.
