cleaning ph/ppm pens

  1. i just noticed that my ph pen is lookin a lil funky. does anyone have a home cleaning remedy for these things? thanx
     
  2. calibrate using the 7.0, then 4.0.... and use a soft tooth brush for buildup.. don't break the glass.... if you do you have to get another one and their expensive

    Also, make sure that you're rinsing your pen between uses in distilled water and storing it in either storage solution or 4.0 buffer solution (not 7.0). You can either use an eye dropper to place a few drops in the cap, or cut a little piece of sponge soaked with some of the solution for a bit less of a mess.
     
  4. as soon as I take the readings I firmly jiggle the head of the pen in a bowl full of RO water....storage according to as said above..... the head looks clean and spotless after 1 year of usage...
