Cleaning multi-chambered bong?

    Just acquired a sick 2 1/2' 3 chamber glass piece, glass on glass slide, from a friend for $50 with carrying case...I actually picked it out and he bought it not 4 months ago for $260 and change, couldn't be happier of course :)

    Anyways, it's time for a cleaning...now I know I COULD go spend $15 on a bottle of Formula 420, but that money could be spent on better things :p...

    I've hear dof using 91/99% alcohol and rice, but i think the rice would clog the little holes in the chambers, or not make it through it at all, as the only way to get anything into the center of the top chamber, or the middle chamber is to fill up the top bubble and blow into the mouthpiece...

    So what say you grass city?

    Use kosher salt instead of rice.

    I use rubbing alcohol and a little added salt and then rinse really really well with warm water. For larger bongs I use the bathtub for this. Hope that helps

    ok so the salt idea sounds promising, i've heard of using epsom salt iirc, is kosher better?


    and what's the ratio like salt to alcohol?

    should i just try and replicate formula 420?...ive used it before...

    The exact mixture of Salt and Rubbing Alcohol is not very important. I normally use a hefty amount of salt, about 1/4 of a cup, and about 1/2-1 cup of Rubbing Alcohol. Go Nuts Go Ape Shit.

    Recommendation: Orange Chronic Cleaner. Same stuff as Formula 420 but it doesn't leave the glass smelling and tasting like poo.
