Clay/Sand Soils

    Ive read quite a bit about the right potting soils to use, every one has said Dont Use any with Clay or Sand in them. But no ones has said why... i recently transplanted and was short on soil so i ran to walmart and picked up a cheap bag to fill the top 2 inches of my 5 Gallon bucket. This Soil is sandy felling and has rocks in it, Is this ok or am i going to be in trouble later down the road?

    sand is fine , good for breaking up the soil, small rocks are ok too but they are rocks or additives like perilite, which are what you want
