Civilians Driving Cop Cars

  1. Does anybody else think this is complete bull-shit? I was filling up my gas tank the other day, and this girl pulls up, she couldnt have been older than 17, in a cop car. When she left, she accidentally pulled over someone cause she was trying to find where to turn on her wipers or something. I think it should be illegal for anyone but an ON DUTY police officer to drive a cop car. I see it all the time, just random people driving cop cars, and they're not cops. Like, I saw an old grandma driving on the other day. It was an undercover one, but still... What do you all think? I think it's crap we have to be paranoid about something where theres no reason to be paranoid.

  2. It is illegal to impersonate a cop. i have NEVER seen anyone who isn't a cop drive one. Maybe it happens in smaller towns?

  3. it is illegal... lol

Umm, so yeah, if that's true (I've never seen it) that's a very viable gripe you have. I'd suggest calling the paper over the police station because the paper will keep writing about it as a major waste of tax dollars and it could beocme a huge issue.

edit: At first I thought you meant people who drive retired cop cars. but when you said someone pulled someone over... well they take away the light bars from those cars, though I wonder if they keep the interceptor engine in those cars or not?

  4. Yea I do live in a small town, and I see it like every other day. On the other hand however, I'm too lazy to do anything about it. Just it's really annoying.

  5. WTF TO THE MAX MAN thats out of control man i dont think that everyday ppl like u and me are aload to roll like the po i think not idk i guess anything is possible

  6. anyone can roll like the pigs, you just gotta be careful when pulling people over with lights... even better if your smokin a blunt and you drive by with the car hotboxed and you let out a cloud or 2

  7. I see alot of stripped cop cars. Meaning that at one point they were cop cars but were stripped of the stickers and such. They look just like a cop car except with out the stickers and sirens.

Scary when you see one turning the corner coming your way.

  8. GUYS.. side note about cops.. i had to throw this out there, but didnt' wanna start a new thread.. The other day, i was riding with my parents, we were going out to dinner or something, and we pulled up at a red light next to a cop.. it was a woman cop.. she was putting on make-up, talking on a cell phone, and playing sollitaire on her little cop computer all at the same time! While waiting for the light to change.. If she ever pulls me over for talkin on the phone or some shit.. i'm gonna be like.. fuck that! haha.. later

  9. I knew a drug dealer who had a stripped cop car. It was annoying until I had to be let out of the back seat, then it was hilarious.

  10. When i was in highschool, an idiot i knew stole a copcar when it parked in front of my school ( probubly drug realted ) and the windows were rolled down and he jacked it, and was in juvy for 3 years
i dont know how this relates to ur story but i think it does cause someone who isnt supposed to be driving is.

  11. Just wanted to add that I actually have a friend that used to drive cop cars to different police departments during the night. He wasn't a police officer, but his mom that used to be one got him the job. Guess they needed someone to drive over the cars to other departments for use but didn't want to waste police officers to do it. Said he used to find speeders and flash his lights and when they would pull over he'd just drive past them. Kinda messed up, but I thought it was funny.

  12. Yeah it's bullshit even when they sell the used cop cars I think it has to do with making you think that you're always being watched so that even when the cops aren't around you think you might be being watched so then you act good. It has to do with this theory I read about in "The Traveller" of this prison where they don't really even need guards because as long as people think that they might be being watched they do as they're told. Sorry can't remember the name of the theory. I know I am a conspiracy theorist kind of but I guess being skeptical is better then being gullible.

  13. my neighbor bought a police car at this random auction. He just had to take off the lights and thats it. But he has a ski rack on it so it looks kinda like lights from a ways away.
