Sorry man but this is a waist of energy that will ultimately gain nothing in the effort for decriminalization, the people that we need to reach in order to decriminalize would never give that petition the attention it deserves. The only way to get mj decriminalized is to through efforts to educate the public thus gaining more social acceptance approval. We need to change the public's perception of the stereotypical stoner that Hollywood has portrayed us to be, show the public that we are productive members of society. When you see a fellow stoner acting like an uneducated douche bag, explain to him the harm he is doing to the cause by acting and dressing like an asshole. I agree with you, stoned budda. We have only two options that have any chance of making a difference. One is to educate the general public to the safety of marijuana and the benefits they (nonsmokers) will gain by having a legalized marijuana market. The other is to inform our legislators of our support for legalization so they can feel that support they give to it will be well received. I also agree that we need an image change. If we want the rest of society to support our cause we have to show them we're just like them, except that we like to relax with marijuana instead of alcohol. Dressing "normal", acting responsibly, and being successful in our careers, sporting activities and parental roles are excellent ways to change their perception of marijuana and reduce their resistance to it. (I only posted this petition coz it's my habit to support anything that might indicate to our legislators that a large number of the general public support legislation) lol
