Why do people hate ciggarettes? I mean, I don't smoke, but my friends do. Random people tell them its bad. Everyone knows , It is on the box. But, the only reason we are in America is because of the tobacco trade. It creates jobs and curbs the population if you want to look at it like that. If you don't like it, Don't smoke.

True, smoking is a personal choice. That doesn't mean there aren't any morals related to smoking, though. i.e. working for an industry that kills hundreds of thousands of people a year? That is subject to moral discretion.

I dont hate them, i just choose not to do them because to me, they arent worth it. I dislike the taste and smell, but i dont have a problem with people who smoke them.
It's really not though. The automobile industry kills hundreds of thousands of people a year. The pharmaceutical industry kills hundreds of thousands of people a year. They are still services that are in demand, and those demands are still going to be filled. Is the need to get from point A to point B faster any more moral than one's need (whether real or perceived) to treat their anxiety/depression/boredom/whatever else with nicotine?
Newport 100's suck IMO. I suck down like 10 shorts a day though What I think is funny is tabacco companies don't even try to hide the fact that smoking kills anymore. I mean, what's the point? EVERYTHING gives you cancer. The freakin' sun gives you cancer. Smoking just dosen't seem that bad when compared to a lot of other things these days. Let's stop the war in Iraq, gang violence, global warming, baby-shaking, and foot fungus before we launch an attack on smoking, please.
I don't see the tobacco industry as immoral because there will always be a demand for tobacco. Even if the industry was "moral" and stopped selling nicotine.. New businesses would pop up. Make it illegal? Black market. It comes down to a personal choice. And I don't bitch at smokers, it just seems uncool. I wouldn't want them to bitch at me for my personal drug choices
