Yes, I just started a church. Not right now, about a few weeks ago. You see, I was an atheist for like FIVE YEARS. It started when the wife (soon to be exwife, thank you) told me to go see the doctor about a "drug problem". They told me to take this "depacote" thingy (for bipolar). The stuff caused me to drop out of a deacon position in our local protestant church. I even stopped the choir! Even after I stopped the med, it still persisted-sort of a GOD IS DEAD THINGY. Then, in 1997, they said I had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I took this ritalin and whoa-that helped a lot during the day, but each night I would drop like a rock. FIFTEEN pills later, to try to take that depression thing away, and a minister therapist dude told me to MOVE TO CALIFORNIA (If you know what I mean). That was when PAULY first looked at the cannabis control act in ILLINOIS (THE LAND OF LINCOLN). WOW- We have had a really good MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW right here, since 1979 (a weaker form started in 1971!). So I got some and found that I could dose with that at night, right when the ritalin would wear off, and I almost saved my marriage-YEP, YOU BET! That was 1998. The shrink wouldn't even believe the law existed, when I forced him to read it, he refused to believe it SAID WHAT IT SAID! Of course, he was scared of the DEA (and who can blame him!). So finally, the wife got real scared of losing the family farm and filed the big D. Then I came forward and talked with EVERY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY KNOWN TO MAN. Of course, I am no longer a lawyer now, but hey, I am a WAWOD now (warrior against the war on drugs). So these guys that took me to trial a few weeks ago took my doctor's deposition 4/1/02. They actually asked him about my "RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCES" that were provoked by a high dose of ritalin + cannabis. The guy said you can NOT TELL BETWEEN A DELUSION AND A RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE-They shut up right away (since we have this first amendment freedom of religion thingy!). That's when I knew I had just started a church! I'm waiting for a really good decision to come out from Hawaii-Also the DA from SF, Cal. just announced last week that pot laws discriminate against pot heads! So watch this billboard for more info. dude, u got an interesting story. BUT (and this is a big BUT), i really don't think christ is the answer. I too started my own religion (well, less of a religion, more of a philosphy, but to describe it would take longer than i can afford to be online). Christianity, when u take into account all the differant variations (and even when u don't), is the MOST hypocritical religion in the world (except perhaps at a push Islamic fundamentalist extremism) and the more versions there are of it the worse the problem gets. Why bother being part of all that? why not start afresh? make your own religion just for you. the first amendment will still count. being someone who HAS read the bible and was brought up as a christian, i fully understand the bullshit that makes up religion responsable for more Wars and Deaths than any other in history. logic, probability, common sence, the wisdom of any 10 year old, cross referencing over 5000 contradictory points in the Bible, cross referencing many thousands more scientific discoveries and scientific fact, 2000 years of transcribing, mis transcribing, telling re-telling and misinterperting and re-interpreting the bible, and the blind belief that whatever u do you (the sinner) will be forgiven, ALL KINDA POINTS TO THE CONCLUSION = BULLSHIT also i gotta say... WAWOD - very very good. I think i'll be using that acronym alot. ok, so u r a WAWOD. so, do u just go looking for fights? (joke) u were an athiest, and now you've added your religion into the whole "jihadd"/"war on terrorism" by being a christian!!!!!! stick to one war at a time. Normally I do my best to avoid persuading people to abolish christianity from their lives. It's a matter of personal choice. It's part of my philosophy NOT to manipulate people to think like I, for i believe it leads to the path of Facism. I leave the religious manipulation to the Christians and MOST other organised religions of the world. So, yeah, this is basically a karmic thingy after all, isn't it? I JUST DEFINE THE SPIRIT AS THE DIETY THAT YOU SEEK, AND THE BETTER YOU FIND HIM (OR IT) AS LONG AS THE SPIRIT ESSENCE IS POSITIVE, THAT IS ENOUGH TO CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE ON THE PATH. I just wonder why so many people follow a religion that has killed so many in the name of their god. Isnt that like pro-life activist killing people? I have a belief that christianity was started so A type of government wold be established to rule over the human race and all the different governments have evolved from there on.
