CHS, so I can't smoke, what now?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Troublz, Nov 24, 2016.

  1. My question is directed to anybody out there who thinks he/she may have had cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome.

My name is Alex and thank you for having me on your forum. Thank you in advance to anyone attempting to help me by reading replying posting, anybody who trys I preemptively thank you.

(I had been smoking /eating/vaping/dabbing Aprox 3/4oz bud and about a gram of shatter a day (usually less, more on weekends, you know the drill) of bud I bought from the dispensary by my place or my girls and eventually, I started wrenching. Not vomiting, projectile vomiting, or hurling. It was so bad they had to close doors in the hospital up to floor 6 (I was in er (main floor)) any who after about 7 or 8 mos of that puking for about 18/30 days per month I was diagnosed with CHS. and it turns out the drug I was using for my chronic abdominal pain and extreme vomiting was making it worse which sucks. I don't want painkillers but if it's all I got, I can't get painkillers so maybe pot? Pot makes it worse if smoked so should I try edibles? Any other suggestions on things to try (natural otc rx name it I'll get it)?. So I ended up on painkillers. It's been 3 years since i gave in and accepted painkillers (very big history of addiction in my family)now, all the types of painkillers have stopped working and no one can help me. I don't want more painkillers, honestly I want a painkiller that won't fuck me up (and one that works as well as bud) and it seems like going back to cannabis, and perhaps trying strictly edibles, would this work? I mean it has to because if it doesnt im fucked. They wont even give me painkillers in the hospital anymore cause they asked if i ever used street drugs and i said ive tried pot. They wrote in my file "possible drug seeker" which im not nor would i ever care but its like being tortyred if you are really in agony. AnywaysHas this worked for you? Or did edibles make you vomit again? Have you had any success by smoking or vaping in less so or how? Cause I've heard of one guy who if dosed properly he can smoke small amounts less than a gram a week never any day, and I also hear people who have chs and tried cbd oil and it helped. Now cbd never helped me cause my pain is nerve related, but if I could use cannabis oils and maybe some edibles when I could eat it would literally change my life.
See I was smoking pot for about a half decade when all of the sudden the pain started getting worse and I was wrenching. And sometimes smoking would help a little sometime make it worse, usually they just gave me I'V painkillers or sedatives at the hospital. But I'm spending about 7/12 months in the hospital, and they can't even do anything for me now because I said I've had trouble with pot (I was talking about chs not an addiction ffs but this damn doc puts it in my file and now I can NEVER get painkillers anymore. And I had something that worked I wouldn't care I hate the "buzz" from opiates, I know plenty of people who do but it's just preference and it makes me very unaware of my surrounding and I used to work in a very high risk Job, still do I still am employed I just haven't worked in about 4 years
BTW if you have gone thru this or anyone you know that's close to you on whom you could shed some light about your experience. I would LOVE TO hear a response, or pm you or something. Because in all honesty cannabis does make th8ngs about 80% better where as the dilaudid fentynyl and oxyneo aren't helping (fentynyl lolis, not patches.) So I went to my dispensary bought a gram of edibles cannabis oil and took about a 1/6 of a gram (5$, works out to about 1g of some of out notoriously killer bud up here in Canada eh) and within 45 my pain went from an 8/10 ( an 8/10 is like my low end of the pain it goes up higher, but I never like to say 10. It kills but there's always someone who just jumped off a bridge and survived right?) So I need to know, if I don't smoke and just do edible (it would be cannabis oil, concentrated, very potent don't need much) I can't consume actual edibles very often because I don't eat much. In 4 years I went from 295lbs of muscle to 195 in fat. So I can't work I can't work at a desk I can't eat (I'm a diabetic so that's big, before my pain I used one glucagon in a decade, now I use 2 a month now that I can't use pot for pain. And now that my painkillers have been changed around too, I am in agony!! I went from 80mg of dilaudid a day, plus 400mg of oxyneo or its equivalent in fentynyl. All the way down to 100mg of methadone. In 2 reductions. So I am dying here, please somebody help. I just need a suggestion to try, I see a specialist every other day I've travelled out to the mayo clinic maybe I can't cure it but I atlesst need to be somewhat comfortable. So if you or someone you know has gone thru this before, of if you have any answers yourself please reply.

My theory is that it is the combustion or vaporization of vaped or smoked weed could potentially be avoided using edibles and I could use pot and get my life back again.

I've already lost my job, (or career) my wife, my comfortability... I can't do anymore I really need help. And I think the people here are the best policy to do that at this moment. Thank you for your time I really really do appreciate it. Sorry this was so long. I'm just really scared, I really hoped that even if I couldn't cure my pain I could reduce it, but 5 years in nothing and now painkillers don't even help and I can't get them at the hospital in I'V, they just give me what I would normally take at home. (In place of, not on top of what I normally take). I just can't live like this anymore. I really need help.

  2. Rehab might be your only hope. Some people cannot tolerate substances like others and you need to know your limitations. Pharmaceuticals are the worst. Seek help. Appeal to a higher power if you are a believer.

I pray you can find peace and get your life back. It's never lost forever, just a different chapter in life.

  3. There really isn't a difference between smoking pot or eating it. After it's in your system your body doesn't know how it got in there. Since I'd rather hurt than be nauseated I think you should get all that stuff out of your system and start over. I also think you're properly fucked.

  4. Thank you to those who took the time,

Stoney I see you're point, I am however working on getting off all opiod as they aren't doing much for my pain anyhow, however, I would rather be nauseated than in the amount of pain I am in. The severity of it has literally taken over my life. I just need enough of a reduction so I can get back to work. So I'm still pursuing that, and the mayo clinic finally responded to me so who knows maybe they have the answer.

Again thank you for your time

  5. Hiiiii I was just googling if I can eat edibles because I still miss weed , my situation was veryyyyy similar to yours but I am a female . Life went to shambles pain colors all of that . I hope your better now ! I am totally back to normal despite missing weed. Pain and feeling crazy went away as soon as the pain killers and weed was totally gone ! Weight came back life back to Normal !

  6. Got it. Hated it. Not again. Loved my vaping. Love meditation . Miss vaping. Oh i said that. Horrible 24 hrs. Go to the ER. No judgement just more diffrrnt drugs but a CURE. Oh the cure. Life is goid with no CHS..fer sure

  7. Not sure what to say as you are asking a bunch of pot heads for professional advice of which likely only an inhouse treatment facility will be able to assist you in getting your life turned around. Go get real help bud. Being on that downward spiral is not good when you doing it alone.

  8. First I will say people should not be blaming pot for their problems. There are many of us who are smoking and are f****** millionaires running gigantic businesses, myself included. Grew up poor, got knocked around, couldnt focus or learn, discovered pot, tested into a good college, learn tons of tech skills on the side, life changer. It's like blaming the knife when you accidentally cut your finger.

People need to manage this thing. Read the forums on how to do that. Once you start microdosing oh, you might find that instead of getting incapacitated you are getting miraculous benefits that you once did.

People should really just never apologize for using this thing. The feeling that you're a drug addict or that it's somehow responsible for something that's happening in your life is negative propaganda that you have begun to buy into. When you go to the doctor for CHS and they treat you like a drug addict, tell them to go f*** themselves, stand proud stand loud, lets stop letting the people who have never tried it dictate how this thing is viewed.

Some advice on it here I like
CHS, Cannabanoid Hyperemesis Syndrome, What's the science behind it?

  9. There is no bearing on CHS in terms of how you consume it. Vape, smoke, edibles, whatever, its all the same in terms of CHS.

You can use cannabis again for pain, but you will need to take a long break. Did you say you took a 3 year break? You should be able to smoke but you will have to consume far less.

3/4Oz and a gram of shatter is an insane amount. I understand its for pain, but tons of people will get CHS if you consume that much. Yeah, CHS sucks. I have to keep taking breaks, and it eventually crops up. The longer the breaks the longer you can reconsume cannabis without getting CHS.

  10. I'm really finding that the one to one CBD to THC stuff is helpful. I think there's a little research done on this, there's over 70 known identified cannabinoids in marijuana, and I am actually finding the CBD does not irritate my CHS at all. Which seems counterintuitive but it is what it is. Which makes me think, I wonder if you could get down on CBD for a week, by giving your body a break from THC, and then switch to dabs or other pure thc, giving your body a break from CBD
