Hey guys, I just spent 30 bucks on eBay and got myself a Chromium Crusher, 3" 4 piece grinder. My question is (as I'm now starting to wonder) was this the best one for grinding weed? I heard that the 5 piece filters it TOO much, and you barely end up with any kief, so I thought I'd go the 4 piece one, and also, is the 3" one better than the 2.25" or 2.5" ones? I assumed that bigger is better, but thought I'd just double check.

Short version: I bought Chromium Crusher 4 piece, 3" - best choice?

Edited to add: The reason I ask this is that if I *have* made the wrong decision, I might be able to barter with the guy I bought it off to swap me

  2. It will be fine. I have a Chromium Crusher as well. I had bought the 5 piece, but just ended up removing one of the screen layers to make it a 4 piece. The screens seemed the be the same micron count anyway.

I've had my Chromium Crusher for over a year and it's still holding up perfect.

When it gets dirty, clean it up with some ISO and get some hash.

  3. Ok, great, I was worried that 3 inches may have been too big. Thanks for the input, now looking forward to my grinder :)

Everyone feel free to continue discussing your experiences with the Chromium Crusher, I'm interested to know how it holds up with you lot

  4. Well this thing is invincible. So many drops on asphalt and concrete and barely a scratch. The screen is very fine so you get traces, if any plant material in your kief catcher. It also came in a nice felt baggie that's still here today.

I have nothing but good things to say about this grinder. Mind you, I've never tried a space case.

  5. i have a 4 piece gun metal grey CC and i love it lol great choice..:smoking:

  6. How big is yours?

  7. I have the 2.25" one. its really shallow but it cuts everything very well.

  8. mine is 2.5 inches..got it for 20 bucks at the mall check out there site...:smoking:

  9. Anyone had any experience with the 3 incher?

  10. yea, my roommate has the 3 inch one and i have the 2 inch one. i personally like the smaller one better because it has a bit of a finer grind that i think packs better than the 3 inch one

  11. Finer enough of a grind for me to see if I can swap?

  12. it really all depends on what you like i guess. my roommate swears by his, but i think it doesn't pack as well. i really like the way the finer grind burns, but he says that with mine the bud burns too fast. dunno what to tell ya  i really like the smaller one better, so IMO id go with that one if you can

  13. heres a side by side of the two. you can really see the difference in the size of holes in each grinder, and subsequently, the different grinds you are going to get. hope i could help :hello:

Thanks, I never realised it was so much bigger, however having said that, and considering this:

I think I will go for the 3" one. I like my cones to burn for a while longer, as otherwise I find that it's prone to pulling through unburnt weed.

Thanks heaps for your help, I'll be sure to give feedback once I've given the grinder a test run :)

  15. Also if it isn't fine enough; you can turn upside down and regrind the already ground weed.

  16. I always suggest people get chromium crushers :) they are the bomb at a really good price

  17. Very true. I do this a lot, usually when I am rolling jays as I like a really fine grind. Makes them easier to roll and smoke better.

  18. True, it would just suck to have gotten one that I need to grind twice with when I could have gotten a more efficient one. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see if that is the case or not - hopefully it will grind it to my optimum fineness
