Choking On Food When Smoking?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by KrunksGroove, Jul 7, 2014.

  1.   When I smoke I get this problem consistently. I don't smoke heavily. I don't have much money so I usually get about $50 dollars worth of weed every 2 weeks or so.  Often when I eat when I'm stoned I have trouble swallowing. No matter how much water I drink, so it is not just dry throat. The feeling is like the food takes forever to travel down my throat. I will literally hold my breath after swallowing food for a good 5 seconds or so just to avoid inhaling the food. What is this?

I also have developed a cough sense smoking. Even when I haven't smoked in over a month the coughing persists. It usually gets worse at night, during the day I usually don't cough. Anyone know what causes this, or have a similar problem?

I should mention I also have asthma, and possibly summer allergies, altho I have never been evaluated for allergies in the last 10+ years.

  2. ive had the same exact problem. try to take smaller bites and chew your food up better. always keep a handy drink next to you to.hope it gets better man

  3. The coughing problems are definitely due to your asthma. I suggest using an apple pipe or putting ice into your bong water. Stop smoking joints.

As for the dry mouth, that's a normal physical effect. Inescapable.
