Chilli seeds germing

  1. Sup stoners can somebody please enlighten me as to how the fuck you get chilli seeds to pop?
Got some Trinidad moruga scorpions there and I just can’t get em to go.
Managed it last year but it took like 2 weeks in root riots to get going.
This time I’m 6 seeds down and can’t even get one to crack. :(
Any suggestions troops? Should I put em in the freezer for a week or something?

  2. Ever tried the raft method?

    1. Get a plastic container, like an ice cream tub or such and pour some water in it (1-2in)
    2. Get a piece of styrofoam, gently wrap it in a couple layers of TP
    3. Place the TP-wrapped block in the water and make sure it's no longer dry
    4. Plant the seeds onto the now-drenched paper, close the container with a lid (with a few air holes)
    5. Let sit in a dark place and check once a day or two

  3. See that’s basically the same effect as the “paper towel method” I’ve been trying with root riots. I’m 120/122 so far with weed seeds. And the 2 failures were a 2 pack so I’m blaming the seeds.
Dunno why it doesn’t work. This is what I don’t last time. It took 2 weeks in a warm, humid dome but I got there. Been at it for fuckin ages now though and nothing’s working :(
They’re damp, moist, dark, warm, some with just water, some with hydroguard bennies.
Like is there something specific you need to do to a chilli seed I don’t know about?
I’ve heard folk saying they need to be frozen first but they popped last year so I don’t think that’s the answer.
Maybe just fucked seeds. Been in a cupboard for a year so never know. :(

  4. I used to grow chili, although admittedly, I never grew any Capsicum Chinense type plants. My success rate using the raft was pretty much around 80% so I never really resorted to any alternative methods. Never heard about freezing them, but I recall all the packs recommending that you store them in a cool, dark and dry place.

To be honest, it sounds like the seeds you're using have expired.
