This is a thread for stoners in Chicagoland. A place for us to bitch about the CTA, weather, talk about great toking spots, etc. Maybe we could network a little and form some sick sessions, who knows?? Pretty sure this would be the right section for this... So yeah, I'll start: Hi I'm "Suede," I'm a stoner and I live in Edgewater. *Hi Suede* Post on!
Lol u live in edgewater but make a thread saying chicago stoners unite.. And there is already a thread like this
That's dope yo, I just moved here in August so not very long. This town's pretty chill though man, no lies I love walking/ blazing it along the lake. Nice, representing from the hood. Haha, jk dawg
Ya you really can't beat this area. Don't really have to commute for anything (public transportation). I longboard majority of the time to class at Columbia. Ride down by the lake and through the parks by south loop, hard to beat that, except for the fucking wind lol
I was cycling pretty much exclusively until i realized that i normally have less wind resistance when longboarding lol. I also enjoy being on a longboard more than a bike.
ahh, I prefer cycling.. SO much faster even if theres wind resistance you get to where you need to go faster than a long board.
I'll have to agree with you on that one man. However come the warmer months I'm all about boarding for shits and giggs, but when it comes to commuting (I commute 10mi everyday round trip) I opt for the cycle.
Ya id cycle too if i had 10 miles of commute. I have like 4-6 mile round trip. I've noticed for me that boarding really isn't much slower. 20 min cycle is 25 min board ride, and 25 min cycle is 30 min board. This last week i actually lost a bolt that held on a wheel about half way to class. Ended up walking home from class for the first time, expecting like 40-60 min walk, got home in 30 minutes lol.
Lol no how it happened/i noticed was kinda odd. I was just pushing and noticed my board was giving me resistance, so i was pushing even harder and the harder i pushed the more it resisted me. Basically came to a stop because i couldn't push anymore to move the board, picked it up and saw that i had lost a bolt to a wheel, along with a bearing from the wheel. Pull the wheel off and it left the other bearing on the truck still. Go to try and pull the bearing off and it burned the fuck outta my hand lol.
