Chicago reaches 500.

Discussion in 'Politics' started by dankydankk, Dec 29, 2012.

  1. Last night Chicago reached the appalling number of 500 murders for the year. I think 150-200 of those were children under 18,

I don't really know what could stop it, Chicago has more cops than NYC from what I heard and has much worse of a problem with crime ..

The part that kinda pisses me off though is that the city isn't encouraging the neighborhoods to change, they are simply kicking all the poor folks out, spreading the problem all over Chicagoland instead of actually dealing with it.

Just kicking the can like everyone else in this country,

This practice known as gentrification will only lead to longer hardships. The poor are being booted from areas near the loop, near train stations, things that make getting a job much easier, as most likely that job is far from the poor persons neighborhood.

The Mayer thinks its brilliant, even though cities like NYC lowered crime without displacing its residents to turn profits. They still have their projects, yet ours have been gone for years and it hasn't seemed to make a difference.

The only thing that has worked well are RICO laws.

But The city is using "crime fighting" as an excuse to totally flip neighborhoods in just a decade or less, while completely ignoring areas that aren't prime realestate.

They are also using it as an excuse to increase the police force & raise taxes. As a way to place a police camera on every corner, to ban guns as much as possible..all types of shit that has no effect on the source of the problem.

    Makes me mad...

  2. New Orleans has many more murders per capita. It's not the government's fault. It's just part of certain people's culture to be violent, and they choose not to deviate from it.

Let's not take blame away from the people who are doing the murdering.

I mean seriously. What the fuck?

At least we have gun control to get guns off the streets

  5. Over 2,000,000 live in Chicago. 500 deaths sounds like alot, but when you do the math that 500 is only around .018% of the total population there. Not an epidemic by any stretch of the imagination. Although the media wants you to think that 1 out of every 10 people who venture outside will fall prey to some looney right wing nutjob with a bushmaster "assault" rifle, of which there is no such thing. These new proposals for gun control arent about making anyone safer, that is not there concern although they use that story to gain the support of the people. There real plan is CONTROL. Control over every aspect of our life. Remember yall, the 2nd amendment is the one that lets us protect and keep in place the 1st 3rd 4th 5th and so on, although the 4th is being chewed to hell by the TSA and the NSA. If the 2nd amendment falls, the rest will fall shortly afterwards. Gun control be damned. True gun control = Windage & Elevation. Just my 2 penny's worth.

Yes but Chicago has been the murder capital not too long ago as well, consistently its near the top of the nation in murderings, and probably would make the "most dangerous" FBI list if Chicago reported crimes like everyone else. Point is that for an Alpha city its a bit perplexing that we can't fix our murder problem while LA & NYC were able too long ago.

I don't get your point though, why the fuck should we have a police force if "some people will do shit anyway "

Your statement is ridiculous I'm pissed at little kids fuckin dying all the time where did I say defend gangbangers???

Edit: I noticed the way you used "culture," are you implying that poor culture brings violence, or that minority culture is at fault iinstead of individual cases?? That's pretty irrational if so

Lmao what type of flake joins a weed forum and tries acting hard, attempting to gain respect on here by claiming a gang..hahah never ever thought I'd see those old myspace gangsters on here

  19. No, the point is not to blame the government or society at large.

The people who involve themselves in murders choose to do so. It's not because of what the local government does to them.

And yes, certain groups of people are more prone to commit murder, obviously.

Anyone who denies that is ignorant.

...Huh? The government isn't to blame at all?

The government causes violence in society. It is the root cause of poverty in this nation. It steals our wealth and destroys our purchasing power by inflation and taxation. Instead of an increasing standard of living with regards to increases in technology, the government tries to "stabilize" prices.

I know that you already know all of this, but i can't understand why you don't see the correlation between poverty and criminal violence in society. Most (>50%) of criminal violent acts are performed by sociopaths which represent approximately 4% of the population. Most of these people came from violent and immoral childhoods, which are caused partially by the fact that women (and stay at home men, for that matter) are forced to work to support their family, instead of staying at home and nurturing their children.

And do i even need to mention public schooling and the propaganda associated with it? Come on...

Edit: And that link that you posted is pretty disgusting to me. Associating race to a violence problem makes absolutely no sense. Associating poverty to violence DOES make sense, and blacks/hispanics are obviously more poor.
