Chemistry & Toking

  1. Any tokers here who have a lot of experience in Chemistry labs and are totally into good glassware setups? It might just be the geeky student in me but I had a lot of fun in college working in organic chemistry labs with some of the most interesting glass tools. Never while medicated on Cannabis of course ;).

All kinds of cooling and heating equipment, high quality pyrex, all kinds of fun chemicals and tools that could be used to work towards that perfect sesh haha.

If I had safe access to all the glassware, cleaning materials, and workspaces I had in college, omg i can only imagine the cool setups i could do.

I wouldn't say I have a lot of experience in Chemistry. I'm in my third semester of chemistry at the undergrad level, and its by far my favorite topic. I always felt like the geeky kid, because I felt the need to KNOW what was going on pharmacologically when I used drugs, and further I had to inform all my friends!

The chemistry lab is just a continuation of that great fascination some of us have with intricate glass water pipes and such. I coudln't help but feel reminded of taking my first bong rip after performing my first lab distillation. It just makes me wish I had a fume hood in my room when I was 16!:smoke: Man I could have used one of those. So far, I have a seperatory funnel and a manetic hotplate stirrer to my name, as well as some assorted pyrex beakers and an erlenmeyer flask. I like making MJ extractions at home and having the proper tools and the knowledge from the lab makes me feel more confident in my experiments outside of class.

I make it a point to only smoke before a lecture, and not before a lab session. I don't want to be that guy that has the glass stopper fly out of his seperatory funnel because he wasn't paying attention to the pressure build-up as he lumbered accross the concrete floor staring at the "Carol Never Wore her Safety Goggles" poster.

  3. LOL I totally get how you feel. I was always a macgyver smoker before I could afford to start getting quality tools and I feel like I officially graduated to chemist smoker when I did.

Some day we may qualify for an honorary Ph.D. in pot smoking technology. Chemist Smoker sounds like a pretty cool title. Would have made an excellent screen name. Sounds like something you might call Dr. Shulgin while the two of you smoked THC-O-Acetate in the Smithsonian Museum.

On another tangent, do you recall the Carol poster from any chemistry classes? It has a 2003 copyright, duno how lon ago those orgchem classes were for ya. I've been dying to get my hands on a copy of one but can't find em. So insensitive, and yet so hilarious.

Personally, I think it should say, "Carol Never wore her safety goggles, now she trips on more than just ecstasy"
