Checked up on by the Cops tonight

  1. Man the cops in this town don't even think twice about pulling people over. My buddy was just giving me a ride home from his place, he gets off at 1 and we were just watching a movie, and since I biked over to his place, he put the bike in the back of his SUV and gave me a ride home.

As we were pulling close to a intersection, he spots the cops cross at the intersection that we're coming up to and he puts on his seatbelt when they are through the intersection. As we pull up to the stop sign, I put on my belt, as well. And then when we pull through the intersection their just sitting right there with their lights out. (must have been another cop car)

As soon as we went through the intersection, they pulled out and started to follow, so I assumed they musta seen us put on the buckles.

Once we got to the street we were going to, they turned and followed us down it, and finally yanked us. Came to the window, and went through the ordeal. The cop just wanted to know what was in the back of SUV; buddy told him that he just got off work and i biked to his place so he through it in the back and was giving me a ride home.

I think normally we'd be a little bit like what the fuck do you have the right to pull us over for. It's not illegal to have something in the back of the vehicle. But since we just put on our buckles right at the intersection he was at, we didn't know if he saw it, so we didn't say much.

I guess it's not smart to get on the bad side of cops anyways. But it fucking pisses me off when they pull you over just to 'check in' on what your doing.

I've had it happen to me a few times before around here, (at different times) it seems like if your out past 1 in this town they'll pull you over just because your out late, and it's a pretty quiet town.

(one time i was helping a buddy move, and had stuff in my car, so they pulled me just cause my back seat was full and we were coming into town late at night)

  2. I don't know canadia that well but I thought they were more laid back up there like small towns doesn't everybody know everybody? I would assume there would be less traffic stops..

  3. i hate the fuckin police to man!! cops where i live at in louisiana are fuckin horrible!! BUSTIN all in yah fuckin house without warrants and shit!! they did that to my cousin!! said they seen someone run inside!! so they busted in there and found 150 bags of weed and ah broken ass gun some 300 xanax pills behind the fuckin tv!! it ain't right!! they never even fuckin knew anything was goin on put being the dirty bitches that they are they stumbled on somethin!!

I wish i could fight a cop just one on one!! the majority of the lil bitches can't fuckin fight anyway!! I'd beat the BRICKS off ah fuckin cops ass if i knew i wouldn't go to jail for it!!

  4. Right, so they busted into a random house, and just happened to find 150 bags of weed, and 300 Xanax? Get real.

  5. Not surprised. It is kinda suspicious to have a bike in the back of your car.

  6. How is that suspicious at all?

  7. ehh, if i was doiing something dumb andn illegal like not wearing a belt and sitting in the front of a car, id not be too surprised to get pulled over. wearing a seatbelt is about the best thing you can do other than makin sure your driver has a valid license. they are there to save your life, not make it worse, so wear em and dont complain about getting pulled over if your not, bike in back seat or not.

  8. cause people steal bikes late at night by clipping the locks off the chain and putting them in back seats of cars?

    idk, jsut a thought...

  9. Out in alberta (along the northern rocky mountains) I've seen pickup trucks go up and down the major roads with four guys standing in the back drinking beer screaming and hollering, with the vehicle going 50 miles over the speed limit, and still not get yanked.

It can be a bit of the wild west out there; They end up putting a lot of money into getting helicopters, and special task forces, and let the average idiot go about his business.

In Manitoba the ideology is far more socialist; the government has a lot more to do in you daily going ons. I think they check in on you here just to let you know that they're watching. And actually the people out here like the cops. It's like a PR move to have more police on the streets. People prefer to feel safe here, rather than free.

    edit:
Yeah, your right you can't complain, or you get black balled.

I just know how they work around here and it irritates me. I actually don't have a car right now (hence the bike). When I did have a car I got pulled over 10 times in 4 months, just because I'm often out and about after midnight. After about the 5th time when I got pulled over, last year and as soon as the officer told me to step out of the vehicle for a breath test, I certainly gave that cop a big ear full, from the time that he told me to step out of my car, till the time I blew 0.00. Afterwards I told him to fuck off and stop wasting all the tax payers money by harassing law abiding citizens. (btw I have never been given a traffic ticket or got in an accident when I'm driving)

I may be wrong, but this isn't a fucking police state. I am perfectly ready to make a fucking stink about the police stepping over their bounds. Cops are intended to be officers of the peace, if you aren't breaking the peace, than it's none of their business. You can't just go around fucking with people and telling them that you are saving their lives. That's complete bull shit. That's not reality at all. What they are doing showing you who is in charge; and last I checked in a free nation, it's supposed to be the citizen, not the police officer.

  10. How do you think people steal bikes? Im just sayn, I used to steal bikes and thats how we did it

  11. Where you living dude. I'm in Winnipeg and I can't say I've ever had a problem with the cops at all, I rarely see them except if I'm downtown. Even there they have better things to do, we often will smoke outside a pub thats a block away from the main police station. Every time we're out camping or what not the RCMP really like to be dicks... I guess your dealing with them? If so I feel your pain, I've got lots of stupid tickets from them.

  12. yea i mean seriously... two people with no seatbelts on, with a bike in their back seats... even id be suspicous of that, and i dont own a damn bike.

  13. I was driving home from glow bowling and was getting into my town around 230am and Noticed a cop coming along on the highway opposite of me. First of all the cops are always looking out for my car because for one its red and second its a sports car. I have a passport 8500 radar detector that is super sensitive. Anyways I am driving around 37-38 in a 35 and the cop passes me and gives me the stare of death and then the next thing i knew he turned around and pulled me over. First thing he did was get his fat face in my car to smell for weed/alcohol which I had none on me and was not drinking that night. He goes what you doing out this late? I stated Officer Why are you pulling me over. He said he clocked me at 52 in a 35 I just laughed at him and this made him pissed. He then asked if I had weapons or anything he should know about. I asked him if he had a weapon. At this point he was super pissed I go look officer I know I wasn't speeding and you didn't even hit me at X,K,Ka, or laser. I asked to see the radar gun and he walked to his car and said his computer is broken and cannot print out the speed. Anyways after a little more of receiving harassments he writes me a ticket for 95$ bucks I go to court explain everything that happened and got the charges dropped. It just sucks when you get pulled over for stupid shit. If i would of had shit on me i would not have talked shit. Did you have any bud on you when you got caught?

  14. a fight broke out and the cops came and they said somebody ran inside!! so they went in!! you wasn't there bitch so shut the fuck up!

After jello's thread and this post...it's clear you don't belong here. *RMJL

  15. well... to be honest man, a) wearing no seatbelt in any situation in which a car is moving is against the law, for a DAMN good reason. how easy do you think it is to be a safe driver, when you have to make a sudden stop, but get entirely distracted by the fact that your passenger has been ejected through the windshield due to not wearing a belt?

how easy is it to remaain in control of your own vehicle, while skidding, stopping short, or staying inside your vehicle while being involved in a collision??

what would have happened if your friend sudddenly saw another car, one who maybe was actually stealing bikes run that stop sign, cutting you off and causing the car to have to break suddenly?? i can tell you what... you both would have been ejected from the car, via the windshield, leaving your car out of control to hit anything in its path, probabaly killing both of you and possibly others around you.

i think that stopping kids in a car, late at night, possibly DUI even because they arent wearing belts is a damn good example of keeping the peace, and protecting innocent, intelligent drivers, unlike yourself.

if you or your friends drive without safety belts, i 100% have no sympathy no matter how tragic your story may be. its reckless, its entirely stupid no matter how you loook at it, and no matter what you say, the cop was 100% correct for tailing and pulling you over. thank god he actually cought you in the act, didnt punish you but yet still kept the rest of the streets you were travelling on safe from a possible terrible accident.
