Cheapest Place To Get Mylar?

go to your local walmart. go to the camping section. look for "emergency blankets" its mylar. usually about $2 a pack, and one " blanket will usually cover about 1/3 to 1/2 of a small closet.

 

It is mylar. I like a pandafilm better tho. Simple black on one side, white on the other.

 

Forget those emergency blankets, they are made to reflect heat not light. If you hold those up to the light you can see right through them -- light passing through is light not reflected. There's a reason they cost $2-$3 compared to $20-$25 for what you want, horticulture-grade mylar which comes on a roll and is at least 1mm thick. Look on ebay, amazon, google "mylar roll", or check websites of hydro stores.

 

True, I double/triple layer those though. May not be optimal but it works if you're looking for something cheap.

go to your local air-conditioning supply house ask for a peice of bubble wrap duct insulation it is coated in mylar or aluminum and its not a whole lot

 

Do you have a Home Depot or Lowes in your area. They usally always have it and not too bad...Runs about 20-30 $

Yes, and if you go to a hydro store or google it like I said you will find the stuff you want. "Mylar" actually is a trade name but is used generically for a variety of products that basically are a form of plastic sheeting that is coated with aluminum electrostatically. The products vary based on what they are intended to do. Some are produced to reflect light, and that is what you want, and that won't be found at Home Depot or an air conditioning supplier or the camping section of Walmart.

 

How important is mylar? Does anyone's buds grow towards the mylar? Mine sure don't. They grow towards the light no matter what.
