hows it going everyone? quick question. my clones amd moms were under 24hrs solid cfl, and tonight i switched them to 20 on 4 off. please tell me this wont induce any shock and force budding. i have been reading and it seems like the plants atleast like a little rest. i just want to make sure that nothing is hurt since they wont see a solid 12 hours of darkness. hmm..brings a quick secind question, which may be dumb, but here it goes. will a plant ONLY begin to flower with the intro to 12 hrs of darkness. no more no less? thanks everyone, id be glad to toss rep to any help, and wish good vibes upon your girls. peace & love from the hippi gardner
Hi HippieGardner! Nah, you should be fine. MJ begins to flower when it senses the "days" getting shorter, and that's why you switch to 12/12, to simulate the onset of winter and induce flowering. Anything over 18 hours of light, however, and those moms and clones will stay in veg mode. I hope this helps. Peace!
lots of reading has got me here to answer your questions its going all good for my grow. 1k wat hid is sexy no, it wont induce shock BUT why do you turn it down to 20/4 when 24 light is the best as weed doesn't need sleep unless you are trying to flower. weed is a c3 plant and blah blah blah = it grows in light and stretches in darkess.. hence people saying they dont notice a difference in size but infact 24/0 gives more bushier plants while 18/6 or anything less than 24 hours light gives stretchy plants. now you might ask, why does it stretch? will its trying to find light in darkness so.... now that we got that out of the way.... plant will only flower in 12 hours of darkness... im not too sure about that but everyone seems to say its 12 hours and it works. I do know that the plants can and will show sex in 24/0 or any other light if you leave it in veg long enough... ty come again
