I've searched to no avail... I'm a week into my first grow. My babe's are in party cups (soil) and stand about 2 1/2 inches tall. I want to change to Hydro eventually. Can you go straight from soil to a bb system?
If you are planning on going hydro then it would be better to start your plants off in some rockwool cubes or something similar so that you can put them more easily into your hydro setup later. Its not impossible to change a plant from soil to hydro, but it can be difficult to do without stressing the plant out too bad and possibly killing it. The roots are very delicate and covered in smaller root hairs that grow into the soil. When you remove them from the soil the larger roots will look undamaged but all of those root hairs, where the majority of the absorption into the roots takes place, will be torn off and cause the plant alot of stress.
Thanks for the reply! So this task isn't for novice? Would it be as much of a culture shock to switch from soil to rockwool then to hydro? Is that even possible? Again thanks!
