CFLS

  1. 4 100 Watt 23 watt equivalent CFLS with 5000K spectrum good for veg? What about 4 100 Watt 2700K bulbs for flowering?

Pretty decent yields from this lighting. By the way it's only 1 plant.

  2. I too would love to see pics. I'm confined to a small space so a cfl harvest is probably my best bet..Fodolo there are also 150 watt 2700 K equivalents that have seemed to help my lady in flower

I have not had very good luck with the 5K(s) for veg. It just doesn't seem like any of the strains I have vegged using 5K(s) like that kelvin range. All the 5k(s) I have tested were more like 4400k to 4870k. The only ones I have found to be really 5k were the LongStar brand. I tested 4 of those and they ranged from 5097k to 5212k. The 6 5k Sylvania's I tested really were 4860k - 5011k. Anyhow the 2700k are good for flowering, but I had better results using LongStar 2500k. They are hard to find because they stopped making them, and only make 2700k and up now. But let me get back to your question, for veg, I wouldn't use anything lower than 6500k. All the plants I have vegged using 6500k, and 7200k do really well. As a side note, I am a LongStar fan, all their cfl(s) hold true K ranges. Lastly... pot plants in general don't really use a lot of the light spectrum in the 3000k to 5200k range, so I wouldn't use any cfl(s) that are between those ranges. So use 2900k or lower for flower, and 6000k and higher for veg!
