Cfl

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by TATtheHOOD, Dec 27, 2012.

  1. So I have a couple of really nice CFLs and someone just told me I could use them for 12/12 on my plants. This is my first grow and I'm aiming for the cheapest light source and this seems to be it. I know its not the best way but I would like to hear ppls comments. Please only respectful responses.

  2. More info is needed. How many plants? How many cfls? and how many watts are these cfls?

  3. 4 plants. 3 55w cfl 2 23w cfl and a 75w fluorescent strip grow light. In a small closet

  4. I would get 4 more 55w cfls. You want at least 100w per plant.

  5. OK and when they start to veg should I switch to a dif light source/ cycle?

  6. It's best to use a combo of mixed spectrum. I would use 6500k and 2700k 50/50 from start to finish.

  7. Can u put that in dumbass terms for me please...lol

Had to edit a whole post. I'm too high and was thinking about another question.

What he means is to use both spectrums throughout the grow cycle.

    Example.

Veg- maybe 2:1 or 3:1 ratio, with the 2 or 3 the 6500k bulb to 1 2700k bulb.
    Flower- opposite. 2-6500k 1-2700k

6500k mimics spring, 2700k mimics fall. You'll notice that the 6500k has a blue tint and the 2700k has an orange tint.

And the "k" in 6500k stands for Kelvin, not thousands. (just in case you didn't know.)

Hope you understood that. I'm pretty high. :)
